Veg growing out of my buds

Has anyone experienced this late flower (59th day) burst of vegetative growth out the top of my main colas. Leaf matter mostly, not pretty, looks almost mutative, but just calyx growth this late. This strain gave me problems (Godbud) in extreme sensitivity to nutes; had to change out reservoir early as vegging was very slow and resistant to nutes. Went to flower under 300 ppm Have only added nutes later in flowering. 3 part nute plan (B.C. technoflora) with added Sugar Daddy, Awesome Blossoms, SuperThrive, CalMag, Hygrozyme. Anyway, sorry for the long winded question, can anyone help on diagnosis? Thanks much, O

Sounds either like you hit them with a fat dose of N in mid to late flower or your plants are getting heat stress.

Sounds like reveg, the words "almost mutative"

Reveg would be most likely caused by an interrupted dark cycle.

A pic will help determine, without one we are shooting in the dark.

I know exactly what you're talking about. This stem all of a sudden grows out from the top of the cola near finishing.

That is a common trait in some straings. I consider that a mutation IMO and would just top that portion so the energy can be used for bud growth.

Or, top that portion, put it in a glass with water, and do not put it in direct light. Put it on the floor in indirect light and the plant will stay alive, flower, and begin to develop roots. Then plant it and see what happens.

i call them "jump offs"

"jump offs" make the smoke harsh cuz u get immature bits in with your nugs that are finished.

if you ask me, its the superthrive in flower. its good for vegging plants, revegging plants, rooting clones, or for keeping a mother from trying to flower. just something to look into.

You guys can call it what you want. They arent foxtails if that is what you are all thinking. That is genetic. The way dude is describing it sounds like straight up super heavy N dose in late flower or heat probs. It just sounds like you are all having that problem from your responses.

Thanks for your expert opinions

Thanks for your expert opinions

:woohoo:I appreciate your feedback and a combination of responses make sense to me. I did hit it with some veg nutes (high N) during latter flowering to counteract the lack of Nutes it using. I will drain reservoir. You guys are valuable to have as resources and I hope I can contribute sometime to someone's problem by offering a solution. For what it's worth, thank you all for tossing in your opinion. It wasn't for newbies and I can tell you all seem knowledgeable and experienced with a green thumb.

from my experience, you dont want those, bottom line. i dont often get them, but when i have, id say temps cause jump offs, and N (calmag in my case) had em mad jumpin off. damn thing was tryin to grow a new crop on top of old. at that point i chop and call it a day...

Sorry for lack of pics

Sorry for lack of pics

I apologize for no pics; just got a digital camera for my bd a while ago and haven't figured out how to use it. Your remarks are appreciated. It's a cabinet grow with controlled environment (one of the early expensive ones from Canada $3,000) so I don't think the temps got out of hand. It's my supplemental grow to my closet 600w hydro set up and I was hoping to get the bugs worked out of this strain before I fill the closet with it. So the analysis is important on several levels. Before you say it, I know. Paying that much for a cabinet is nuts but I was a newbie to the world 6 years ago. Now I'm still getting into trouble and learning my way through. Thanks again for the help. O
