Hi y'all sisters and brothers under the sun!
Just couldn't resist and finally HAD to get an account to give back some of what I've been sucking up like a sponge for like aeons from this lovely community...

:headbange :headbange :headbange

So, to cut things short and to give a little introductory background:
My first attempts at growing are more than 15 years in the clouded, shrouded past, but back then there was no web, only poorly researched books which weren't too easy to get, either, so my "scheme" back then looked basically something like jiffies-fluoros-out in the woods...

Seeds came out of some bought weed and would perform between around 70cm and 2m in final height, but as I - matter of factly - didn't have ANY clue compared to nowadays (*thank you so much, icmag *), I can't remember any real harvest because crazy stuff like trichome color or even finishing times were still up ahead in the sea of knowldedge waiting to be conquered, so to speak...

Anyways, have to get on topic again...what was the topic again? :bashhead: :muahaha: ............. :joint: ah , I know: Growbox:

Just as it's my first thread, it's also my first growbox. I love it! Am finishing the second run right now, but some of the ladies in there came as clones from outdoor plants which already had their full share of outdoor fun last season, because I took the clones from the nearly finished plants. Bad stuff including ravaged plants and a quick forced cutdown of the poor rest and shit happened, so I saved a few clones from a Skunk#1 and one huge bush of an IndoorMix from Sensi.

Needless to say, after 9(!) months of work and care put into those ripped plants, I was like " :cuss: outdoors, :woohoo: indoors " :)

So I put them under the lights for veg waiting to go in the tent. It's a darkroom street 80 (80X80X160 centimeters, not inches... :bashhead: ) and I put them in 6,5l tekus for flower under a 250W HID. Because of missing height in my veg room I couldn't clone enough for the first run and had only 11 or so in there ready for flower.

Second run is with a 400W HID and there were some Shiva Shanti II, Blue Mystic, Big Bud, Jock Horror, Californian Orange Bud as well as the IndoorMix and Skunk from the same plants I saved from outdoors.

Pheeeew, quite a lengthy introduction, but now you see... :sasmokin:

Will write some more and up some pictures from the last run and the setup in a while........... :joint: toke one :joint:

Here we go:

The flowering box:

Inside:

Big Bud:

Actually I can't say it's the third run, because I always have 2 sets in there around 2 weeks apart for a perpetual harvest, or so it is supposed to... let's see.

Right now there are 4 BigBuds, 2 JockHorror, 1 BlueMystic and 1 ShivaShantiII at day 2 of flower inside a 30 gallon rubbertub ventilated with 4 pvc pipes in the corners and hydro correls in the bottom filled with a mix of composana and guano as well as 6 Shiva Shanti II, 2 Skunk, 1 Indoor Mix and !/2 Cal. Orange Bud and Jock Horror waiting to be harvested within the next two suitable moon cycle slots, that is in two days..............
:rasta: :jump: :rasta: :joint: :jump: :headbange :headbange

Will take some pictures and maybe of some trichs and/or the rooms later, but they're still sleeping, so I'll keep on describing stuff instead... if no one minds.... :joint:

The Darkroom has a charcoal filter sucking air through a cooltube and out through the fan and sonodec tube. I have one or two small dehumidifiers in there although they're almost not needed because of 400W on 0,6sqm.

The vegi room has 4 fluros and one fan sucking air from the light fixture out through sonodec as well as a small fan on a timer that blows every 90 min or so for 15 minutes during day cycle. I used to have the small fan on a temperature controlled switch to switch it on just before it's getting too hot in there but right now outside temperatures are very low and the temps inside stay perfect anyways, so I changed the temp. control unit for the simple timer. I was considering plugging the exhaust fan on the temp switch instead, which seems more logical, I guess.

In the veg room theres not much height, but I have 3m of width. Right now there's only one 4xfluro fixture (1,20x0,60m) in there, but I got myself another 4 fluros today and built another fixture which I plan to put in the vegi room as well. Then the babies will get a tray on wheels to slide them out of the back of the closet for watering and back in for tanning... :smoker: But one step after another... so many things to plan and do... :)

I plan on building another Soma style bed and get it in the flowering room as soon as possible, that is, when the current ladies will have been finished completely.

Only drawback in my setup seems to be the height of my veggie room. Keeping mothers with 60cm of height is too painful, so I might try to build a mother room inside an existing cupboard which seems perfect for that purpose, just needs to get insulated and equipped.

Just today I have thrown 10 Skunk, 7 Big Bud and 15 of my first self-bred-feminised IndoorMixxIndoorMix/IndoorMixxSkunk seeds in water and will try to select a good mother from them as well as sending the next lot of ladies into the bloombox as soon as it's empty again. In the vegi room there are 13 Shiva ShantiIIs at around week 3 of vegi. They will go in the 2nd Soma bed and make room for the 32 new seeds that are soaking in water right now...

Hope I could give some inspiration or whatever, and please: do post questions....

Sprouting Day

Sprouting Day

Been really busy yesterday. Built another soma style bed from a tupper container as well as another fluro light fixture. This one's lighter and sleaker than the first one, so I gain some more height in the veg cab.

The Soma Tub in four steps:

1.

2.

3.

4.

Clone cab:

Vegi cab:

Here you can see how the tub is built in the box right now. In the middle the tub and on both sides there are the nearly finished ladies getting their last days of light from the sides...

Two Skunk clones in a row...these will finish tomorrow or so...

As the new eight gals that just went into flower in their new bed are really stretching verrry fast right now, I'm in desperate need of a screen for scrogging, since this will be my only chance to keep them from growing out of the box...

Is there any Scrog-Screen-DiY out there? I already tried making one myself, but thoroughly failed...

Will keep updating, comments welcome...

Glad you like the setup! Can't really remember the yield of the first run, and it was definetely better the second round, because the ladies had much more veg time (4 or 5 weeks instead of 2). But the last plants I harvested each had between 15 and 25 grams, mostly around 20 of dry weight. In the first run I used a 250W instead of a 400W bulb, so yields aren't comparable and that's why I don't remember the first run's yield probably.... :)

From the already harvested Blue Mystic, Big Bud and the tops of Jock Horror and Californian Orange Bud I got around 60g dry weight and the two Skunks, one Indoor Mix and the rest of that Jock Horror and Cal. O. Bud are hanging right now, so I will know the dry weight in around a week or so...

Most of the seeds I planted already came out of their jiffies and I had to seriously make room inside my veg chamber. It's real tight in there now...
Can't wait for the last six end-of-flower Shiva Shanti IIs to finish and make room in the flowering chamber to make room in the veg chamber. Should have a less tight time schedule, I think.

Haven't made any pics of the newly sprouted babes, but anyone can imagine anyways... Maybe I should start a thread in the report forums for them and keep this thread dedicated to the equipment and the outcome of the soma soil beds....?

Today I discovered my radio temp sensor has an alert feature which now starts making noise as soon as temps in the flower box reach 30° 5 cm from the cooltube and 28° in the veg room. Very cool, now I can hear when I have to turn up the exhaust fan a little or open the door to let some fresh air in.

The six remaining ShivaShantiIIs already have mostly milky trichs, but not many amber ones, and the top half of the plants still has almost only white calyxes, so I think they need another week. They're now in week 8.

Alright, that's it for today, maybe I'll make some more pics tomorrow and let you see how the inhabitants of the tub exploded...now it's time for some

Update: Harvest time

Update: Harvest time

Thanks!
Have some pics for you.

The two skunks and some JockHorror/COB/IndoorMix

Skunk

And here's some skuff I made from the collected trim. Amounts to roughly a gram and I hope, I'll be getting out some (a lot) more from the next run with the ShivaShanti trim. The odor strongly reminds me of the holiday I spent in Tunisia once. As soon as you got out of the airplane, you had this smell everywhere... Now I know.... :)

And finally here are the six Shiva Shantis. Some of them could have taken one more week, but I needed the space urgently and I want some up-high grass anyway...

That's it for today, have to do some other stuff, but will update soon again....

Very nice :) Thanks for reminding me how nice Shiva looks. I grew some a good few years back, I think I may grow them again.
They look pretty good yielders I think I will look at the seed catalogues.

Cheers
