Vaportronic or Vaportek???

U

UBER21

Hey guys was just wondering if there is any difference between the two? They look identical and the Vaportronic is considerably cheaper than the Vaportek...Also they seem to have the same disks and fragrences....Anyone have any experiances with both?

The Vaportek 4000 can neutralize a 20000 square foot area (supposedly) using cartridges (90 or 120 day)... plugs into the outlet.

The Vaportronic unit uses a battery and can treat a smaller area...disks are the odor neutralizer...they don't last as long as the cartridges.

i have both...i like them. :rasta:

Forget the Vapor-whatever and get a real carbon scrubber if smell is that big of a concern to you. I bought the smaller Vaportronic and it was a POS. Total waste of money IMHO.

They work ok for secondary odor elimination but only if you meet a few criteria. Seems only growers with fully sealed, small rooms see any real benefit, at least with the Vaportronic (small one). Not to mention that the devices themselves probably cost about .50 cents to manufacture (think cheap plastic chinese junk) but sell for $40 or $50, then the disks dry out quickly and have to be constantly replaced and they arent cheap either. If possible, go with a real odor eliminator like a carbon scrubber. I realize some might not have that option tho.

Itsgrowtime thanx for the intel on that....When all is well by my way im going to do a few clones in a small cab.....with probally a 150w but noise is a concern for me so the carbon filter isnt really an option as the inline fans sound like a jet on take off....I also saw that the vaportek cartridges in 120day work really well at neutralizing the odors when a fan is blowing threw them...and u really dont need the unit for small grows....tough decision

Uber21, i would use a panasonic whisper fan mated with a carbon scrubber and use the vaportronic in your room for secondary smell when you open the cab. panasonic has an 80cfm for under $100 that would be perfect. that along with pc fans for internal circulation and you have a very quiet and smell proof cab.

tngreen thanx a bunch so ur saying the vaportronic on its own wouldnt be able to elimanate the smell of 2-3 plants effectively? 10000 sq ft is a lot of coverage.....the vaportek does 20000 sq ft too....but i think that would be overkill...my concern is small airleaks and of course when the cab gets opened to feed them...hmmmm?

I wouldnt waste my money on the vaportronic but the vaportek works great. On the lowest setting it will take care of the smell of a few plants easily. Just buy a few cartridges and change them every 100 days or so. I have used both a vaportek and carbon scrubber and a vaportek works better for smaller grows.

I've been looking for a solution here for a while now. I've got a scrubber with a 250cfm panasonic. Using the fish tank carbon in a scrubber that I built with ducting and steel mesh. It does ok during the off hours, but during the middle of the day I start getting nervous because the smell coming from the basement gets a little ripe. Was thinking an ozone gen or vaportek. Or should I just buy a mountain air can filter?

Uber, i suggest that because the carbon filter is guarenteed odor control if you get the proper size. if the vaportronic goes out or the puck goes out when you aren't home, you have a house full of weed smell. the carbon filter takes care of it before even leaving the cab. im not sayin the vaportronic cant cover that area, just that you can rely on a carbon filter much more.

spaced, you sure you used the right carbon? i know there are 2 different types and i think the aquarium is the kind you dont use because its doesnt filter well enough. not 100% though.

Tngreen I see ur point that would deff be a problem....I think I will run both but I will have to make a carbon scrubber that fit's my cab dimensions perfectly since its a very small space...also need to find a quiet fan that will not exhange the air too fast that the carbon doesnt get to do its job....The last time I ran a scrubber the humidity of a basement and high temps in the summer was a big problem with it working properly and having no windows for an ac doesnt help...thats why masking or eliminating the smell is a big concern for me...
