I never seem to get as good buzz from my Vaporizer as I do from my pipe? Does anyone have any tips for using the vaporizer so I can get as good a buzz. Do you find that straight smoking is better?

Which do you like the best?
i wondered about this. i'm plannin on gettin a vaporgenie to give the whole vape thing a try, it's under $100; hell if i'm gonna shell 5c's on a 'cano or vapezilla.
not to knock people who like it because i've never tried, i can't say; i just got this feeling its gonna be a letdown. i'm hopin not. like to here more about the transition if people have an experience to share.

Like SuperZero said it probably seems like your aren't getting that "buzz" because your not smoking all the crap contained in the burning plant material like when you use you pipe. Unless the bud you are smoking is top of the line, (which it very well may be) your bud most likely has fertilizer or god knows what else in it. It could be too dry, too moist changing the way it burns. A vape is more of a "pure" high if you ask me. You are smoking THC and not all the other things that are contained with the plant. I noticed a big difference when I first got my vape. Now I notice when I smoke out of a pipe the high seems a bit more "muddy." I've grown accustomed to the vape high and I now prefer it most of the time. To each his own I guess.

Ive tried many different vapes inclding: Vapolution, vapomed, volcano, super vapezilla, vriptech, as well as a few other "vapor whip" types. All of them have their +/-.
The Vriptech is top notch in smell and taste, can straight blow a cloud of vapor in your face, but it can only be used by 2 maybe 3 people at once and you gotta sit at a table and handle the bong and heatgun as well a brittle hot glass.
The super vapezilla is less labor intensive and still really good for 1-3 people, Tastes awesome and gets you lifted as long as no one coughs in the whip and blows shit into the heating element.
The Volcano is great for groups of people, tastes good but not like the vriptech, but Its the easiest all around to use (gotta love german engineering).
Another thing to think about when looking at vapes is what is the heating element made of. Volcano is aluminum while the vapezilla and vriptech have ceramic elements. Also if the vape is made of plastic (such as a vapir) you better make sure it is temperature rated otherwise you can be vapeing as much plastic as weed.

Part of what gets you that faded feeling after taking a big hit from a pipe is the fact that your getting very little oxygen...especially if you hold it and then cough your ass off. So the high seems temporarily more intense but its part due to asphyxiation. Most vapes ive found wont get you faded, but vapezilla, vriptech and volcano got the job done. Also those cheaper ones with the whip and the wooden box seem to work well for the money.

I had a Volcano for over a year, ended up selling it to a club in L.A.
the first few weeks it worked good but then my tolerance level wouldn't let me get the effect I was after,.

Do I get high? God damned YES! Agreed that the high is somewhat different.
Yes, I do not cough so much that it makes me dizzy but after I used it for a week or so, I could take the monster hits, really deap with little or no coughing and I get HIGH .. then, not high.. high.. then not high again.. REALLY HIGH.. not high, etc. for longer periods than I remember with conventional smokeing. It's strange.
Also, since I've started with it, I do not like using a glass bowl any longer, all I taste is the butane (or sulfur from a match) from the lighter. I am back to rolling joints for social outings but I can no longer take BIG hits from a bowl or a joint (don't own a bong) because I REALLY cough more now than b4 the vape.
Bottom line.. the SSV is a PITA for multiple people, each user (get it! LOL!) must get in front of it to use it. Musical chairs.
I smoke pot, so my opinion could be skewed somewhat though. LOL!!

I like a combo of the both. Ill Vape a couple bowls out of the volcano, followed up by 2-3 rips off of a bowl........

As to the high, it`s different yes.
I find peeps cheat with vaps when they evaluate how high it gets them, mainly because we don`t use as much weed in a vap than in a joint.
Dump the equivalent of a joint in your Cano and them get back to me.
We get high on alot less in a vap, this being said the high is more immediate and more intense but not as long lasting which I think is the main gripe peeps have after using a vap.
Try using the same amount than in a joint and you`ll be forgetting things and walking in circles looking for Kool Aid in no time
