I'm sure that most of you have heard about the incidents vaping deaths/vaping related illnesses in the news by now. Several people have died and lots more have been admitted to hospitals. Perhaps we should be talking about this. At first they where talking about it being a tobacco vaping issue. Now in the news they are talking about it being cannabis related vaping.

They have been talking about an oil derived from vitamin E that was found in the products tested.


What are your thoughts about this?

Is this something similar to the cyclic vomiting syndrome that was popping up a while ago?

Is some one making contaminated vape products?

Perhaps its contaminates vape equipment like carts and mods. Maybe some one is contaminating the products for some reason.

Could it be due to pesticides that have been sprayed on the plants while growing. Has some one been cutting stuff with some other substance for a higher profit?

I use an arizer(sp) for vaping....about 3 and half years now and my lungs are much better than when I was combusting regularly.

I used 510 carts while on vaca and had no issues really...in fact just a little less harse actually.

Ever tried to speak while exhaling a vape that uses those oils?Makes you sound the opposite of helium. Doesn't take a scientist to work out that it's somehow stretching your vocal chords while you smoke it.
Of course they are bad for your health. Your turning oil into vapour, inhaling it then it turns back to oil on your lungs. In what way can that be Considered healthy?
I get that vaping just cannabis is maybe safer but its still not as safe as not doing it.
I've been looking forward to the day the vapists started dropping for ages.
Spoken to hundreds of them over the years that point blank refused to accept there could be any danger to them. Even the science guys tried to prove to folk there was no long term ill effects. Yeah the vapors who defend it so much are pretty dumb. My favorite is "it's water vapor " hahaha. Really? is there any water in it? Can you drink it on a hot day?

I recently said i have been using my arizer vape for flowers for 8 years, turns out its closer to 11 years. Without a doubt my lungs are exponentially better than when i was chain smoking joints as a youngster.
As long as your flowers are free of molds and pesticides vaping flowers with a quality desktop vape is perfectly fine. I would argue better than combustion.

I have heard a number of people try to link vaping flowers to these carts that are poison. These folks are terribly misinformed. Its one thing if you dont enjoy the experience from vaping flowers and thats fine. But to go from there and insinuate that burning flowers and all the byproducts of combustion are somehow safer than controlled vapor from flowers is just misinformed.

Here is older study on vapor vs combustion. For this study they used volcano. And please look up the author abrams, hes no tool of the corporate vapor cartel. Lol. They concluded vaporization of flowers was a safe and healthy alternative.

Vaping flower in a volcano for instance id agree is safer than smoking it, I think most of us are only referring to vape cartridges/pens with an oil extract thats being heated.

It's funny for me, I vape bud and I also vape nicotine. I say it's funny because you have 2 sides now blaming each others vices.
What I will say is at the moment this looks localised. Here in the UK the British health association is scouring medical records of hospitals trying to see if we have a similar problem here and nope. The NHS is still insisting its a great way to quit smoking.
Nowhere else in the world is this illness being reported.
I will say since quiting smoking to vape I'm in much better health than I've ever been. I don't cough up crap anymore.
I'm firmly on the fence with this one, I will wait untill the experts have Finnished their investigations before I make my mind up. Wouldn't want to look silly making unfounded statements about the whole matter.
I understand why the USA is dead against vaping the flavoured juices because the youth over there have taken to it in droves. Here in the UK its the opposite, kids are still smoking to look cool lol. That's why our health institutions are pushing the nicotine vaping as a way to quit smoking.

You see this looks likely to me, we are very behind here in the UK. The thc vape cartridges are rare. I've Infact only known one person to use them and that was another member of icmag that I see time to time.
I was talking on reddit when this all first kicked off and even back then people were talking about these counterfeit thc cartridges.

Not everyone who has become ill has admitted to using thc but I imagine if some of them are teens, live in illegal states or are worried about their health insurance paying out probably wouldn't admit to using the thc devices.

Again, until the experts have Finnished their investigation nobody can say anything.

I find using an Arizer ExtremeQ much healthier than bongs. Used to cough up crap everyday. Not after switching.

I think this is just those cartridges that use a carrier and flavoring. Would not put it past big tobacco and alcohol to poison a whole bunch of people to increase their profits.

Regarding scromitting, I have heard people say it could be glyphosate or Azamax late in flower. That is why I am so happy to grow my own. Corporate and big growers are likely to care more about profits and getting as much product as possible.

Juul isn't really a thing here in the UK either, not very popular here at all. Them pods are though, I think the biggest seller is the smok nord. Our nic levels are not allowed above 20mg either.
Its illegal to buy or sell anything above that,i can still buy pharmaceutical grade 72mg nicotine though. I use that instead of nic shots to make my juices 3mg.
UK government is quite strict about ingredients in eliquid too.

Its not fair what's happening over the pond with you guys. Tobbaco money probably does have a massive part to play in it. UK government doesn't take money from tobbaco companies. They tax the balls off smokers instead lol. Most 20 packs of cigarettes here are over £10 a pack.
