High eerybody. I live in south mississippi right now and have for all 22 ys of my life and its time to get out. I intend on going to Vancouver B.C. in about a year to go to culinary school and would like to find out a bit about the cannabis culture in Vancouver. I smoke now and have for bout 4 years, except when i go to work during the summer between semesters at school. What can i expect in vancouver as far as law tolerance, head shops, grow shops, and the quality and availibility of bud in BC. Now i know, from a few things i read, that Vancouver is a pretty pot-savvy place, but anybody with any info please let me know so i will know what to expect.

looking to go skiing in Vancouver and i would like some more info as well

are there headshops that sell eed or open air markets where you just have to hookup with some dealer? I know there are seed shops up there, not sure if they are true coffeeshops though

yeah hastings east downtown.... or go to the main part of downtown... cant remember but the streets running down toward english bay... somewhere in the middle of downtown on one of those street corners is a church or art gallery, theatre or something..... anyone help me out there??

If your living in the student parts of town you won't have any trouble...just go to the local bar.

but if you're up hastings way... be in daylight and watch the pan handlers... mostly harmless but now and then...you used to be able to go up some stairs from the bookshop on hastings but I figure its long gone now

Don't know if this helps or not, but here goes......

I was in Vancouver about two years ago in May. I wanted to check out the scenery, and buy some beans,too. I wound up hanging out around E.Hastings Street. Lot going on there, but it was quite a relaxed place. To be honest, I felt quite comfortable there. This particular day, I was interested in purchasing some beans. Walked into a shop and was directed to the second floor. There I met a guy named Steve, and I know we talked for at least an hour about growing and which strain would be best for me since I was looking for something sweet. While we talked, we smoked a joint at the same time. I wound up getting GodBud and Dynamite. Anyway, I was out of bud at the time, so I asked him where I could get some. He said, "right up stairs". I then go one more flight up(third floor) and get taken care of. It ws the regular BC Bud which I didn't find that good, but for $10 bucks a gram I wasn't complaining. After the purchase was made, I left the shop and went next door to a restaurant where we could light up and enjoy the bud that I bought. I don't know how much of that has changed, but hopefully, XTC, you'll have a similar, if not better, experience than mine.

Blunts was burnt down about 3 1/2 years ago. I know emery and marijuana man got extradited to the US a while back. I was there 2.5 years ago and Blunts was burnt out then. The bookshop shop was still open and up stairs was there... not sure now though if even the book shop is still open......

still there's no prob, you will find someone quick enough.

You're absolutely right, treb, Blunts had been burned out. as a matter of fact, it was burned out in April, i think, and I was there about a month later, so it had to have been earlier than what I had posted. Thanks for correcting that for me. as far as the name, i think the place I got the beans from was Smokinseeds, the bookstore was next door, and I believe the restaurant was next to it. I wish I had taken pictures. I had the camera with me, but I didn't want to look like a tourist......lol. other than that, i truly loved the place. Things may be a little different now, but if you hook up with some of the natives, I'm sure they can hook you up.

I was there back in 03 and it was great. Walked right into the cafe down on hastings and it was like getting hit with a wall of pot smoke! I also smoked a joint with Marijuana Man after I recognized him walking into the marijuana party headquarters. He just pulled out a big spliff of kc33xblueberry and invited us to puff with him. He seemed like a nice guy, I hope he isnt in jail with emery... but yeah Vancouver is a kick ass city.
