Valley OG

This is my favorite og, of all the og 'cuts' i have tried... In fact, its my favorite strain of cannabis.
My friend has been running her for several years now.
All of these pics are from the same cut, same grower, just a couple different harvest.

whenever i hear about "og kush" i always think back to the mid/late 90s and the lemony lung expansion goodness that each bag came with.... stellar.

a while ago I have had the fine honor of smoking some of the valley og grown by JeffSpicoli's friend. Of all the og kush I have smoked or grown/smoked, this is, in my opinion, the ONLY OG Kush plant that smokes just like i remember the good old "pre internet board' og kush i used to get. To me, the taste is exactly as it smells. When i was first introduced to the valley og, it was in the middle of a crazy cannabis grower/afficionado smoke out, and i had smoked a lot of TOP SHELF (ie private reserve) stash at that party. > The lung expansion was immediate even though i was already high out of my gord. The taste is, as i said previously, just like it smells - the most lemony EVER (of course the communicative expression of my palatte is not near JeffSpicoli's but 'lemon' is what comes to mind most to me!). AND IT FUCKS YOU UP. WAY UP. people who are not 'in the know' (haven't tried real og kush) seem to always think the high must lacking becasue the taste is so wonderful and prevalent in the opinions of those 'in the know'... they must be used to smoking weak pot that tastes good haha. This girl aint for waking up and coffee unless a whole lotta nothing is on your schedule (unless you can be productive while sedated). You need a strong mind to be able to smoke the valley and get shit done haha

its not an 'only for taste' smoke at all. it is a VERY powerful high. Awesome high.... Epic. Legendary.

she's the one that started it all for me as far as OG Kush goes in my book.

edit: here's some snaps of my valley og plant growing up good and strong. I have been adivsed that she really like being tied down... so i guess its time for greyskull to get into some LST bondgae action. ANyways here's my girl, topped, making me lots of leads to root. THANK YOU YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE FOR THIS WONDERFUL PLANT. Between this and the sour dubble i don't need anything else to grow/smoke!

Those look super dank Jeff, but honestly the entire OG Kush thing is just confusing as hell to me anymore. There seem to be like 20 OG Kush cuts, just off the top of my head I can think of - Abusive, SFV, Fire, Tahoe, Hells Angels....

Im not trying to discredit yours, Im just lost with it all.

Oh yeah, the Valley is danky. You actually were the one to show me her about 2 months ago or so! Thanks my man.
Now I have to go check her out again, I saw her the other day...

BTW I have some Ghost OG right now I got at the same spot, and it is so damn close to that OG I have in my gallery, the XXX you asked about, remember. It has more of that "wet dog hair" musky smell and less of the nice lemmony dankness I like in OGs. I guess that's why they have it priced a bit lower than the other OGs. The calyxes are also a bit fluffier and some leaves actually look like calyxes they're so fluffy, that's the problem I have with the Ghost cut, too fluffy and not enough lemon like the SFV, Valley, Fire etc..that's why I wasn't sad loosing her. I have an SFV, I wonder if they are the same hmmm.

My pic doesn't do the plant justice, as it was the end of the eigth, but the nugs aren't as "pretty" as some of the other OGs, but from what I can remember, OG never was a beautiful looking nug when it first came around SD in 2004 or so when I first saw it, so it may be closer to the original OG, the one with the massive expando power as soon as you hit it..

not to discredit what ur saying moldy dreads but i beg to differ on the ghost og being fluffy i have seen some super tight very well grown ghost that can compete with any other og cut imho like said before the best og cut is the one that u as a grower has perfected and dialed in....peace all

ya jenn its a bit ridiculous.. I can think of over a dozen ogk cuts off the top of my head..
I have had/grown out over 6 of the og's.. And i can honestly say they are all different, similar but each one has its own qualities/traits.

Ocean - i used to think Swerves SFV and the Valley were the same cut, but once i got the SFV myself, i saw that they were not the same.

Moldy - That Valley is good, real good. but its def not the same.. Its actually not even valley, haha.. The dispensary name game my man, gotta love it.


The whole ogk clone thing is ridiculous. So many different clones, different names given to the same clone, etc. etc.
More than anything it comes down to the grower dialing it in.. With this Valley og cut im talking about, ive seen it grown subpar, and its good, but not even what i would consider a 'special' og.. So who knows, maybe this valley og cut my buddy runs isnt really that great, and its only when he perfectly dials her in does it seem like its the "best ogk out there"

Thats probably why there is so much hype around Raskals cut... Hes dialed in that cut like no other, so anyone thats gonna smoke it from him is gonna think its the best OGK cut there is... You give that same cut to someone else, and if its not dialed in, it just seems like another standard ogk

I'm concerned more about the actual smell and flavor/potency. The inside is dense, but the Ghost is way leafy for an OG IMO. I'll take pics if you like :
Hard to explain, but the outer calyxes are leafier on this batch than other OGs I've seen...the leaves are even super frosty and look like calyxes..whatever

Makes perfect sense, and you are correct, each OG seems a tad different in smell, looks, taste and effect. So funny about the name game! Than maybe I haven't seen your real deal Valley. Thanks for the clarification!

the ghost batch your speaking of moldy dreads is not very good Ghost og IMO.. Overferted, and light bleached.
The Ghost og is BOMB, almost identical to the larry IMO, but i think the larry is a little more potent.

Aha, no wonder. Seriously tho, it has barely any lemon flavor, is that how the Ghost tastes? You tried that batch... what do you think. Does the Valley resemble the SFV in taste? Looks kinda similar..

naw that ghost doesnt taste like ghost.. Its to ferted out.. It gets ya high, but doesnt taste like the ghost. Ghost taste like the sfv and other ogs Lemon pine.
Valley has the same taste basically, maybe a little more pine.. But it just has wayyyy more expando strong taste than the others that i have tried

way to put it jeff the ghost most deff has the lemon pinesol in it with hints of diesel fuel in there to me imho but it all comes down to it being grown properly like jeff said u can have the best og cut but if shes grown sub par she may not be a keeper to you great nugg shots regardless

Yeah, I have no clue if the "XXX" OG that I had even was the GHost.
It was probably as Jeff said, a name-game thing that's so common in clubs it seems. Who knows what I had. Like Jeff said, each OG variant has a slightly different smell and taste.

Back on track though, how many days did you pull the plant at, your ValleyOG? Jeff.

Now you have me intrigued with this nice OG.

my Buddy usually lets the valley go 9 weeks. Hes let it go 10, and it seemed overripe. He uses bushmaster, and he figures that takes about a week out of his flowering time.

that xxx og you had could very well have been the triple og.. orgnkid had his triple og cut, also known as xxx og. Based on your pics of that xxx og you had, id say it most def. was not the ghost cut.

The ghost cut and the larry look almost identical to me, with the larry being a little more lanky/stretchy.. And slightly more potent.

All of the og cuts are bomb ass herb! Lots of hype surrounding them.. But i suppose when you got some of the best pot around, its bound to cause a little bit of drama
