vacation planning - carribbean

thinking about heading to the carribbean this year for vacation. saw the strain hunters episode on trini/st.vincent and looked right up my alley. our usual yearly trip is snowboarding but this year we decided we want to learn to surf. looking for suggestions on a good spot to relax, rent some surf boards and find some herb. cheaper is of course better. more privacy is always better too so not looking to stay in hotels or big resorts.

suggestions please!

oh and some fishing would be great as well
