uzbeka auto triple cotyledon seedling question ...

popped some of my f3 uzbekistan x tajikistan cross and got this strange seedling at first thought it was mutated but on closer inspection it turns out to be my first ever triple cotyledon plant the strain sometimes makes triploid branches and shows the twin seed trait (two seeds per calyx) ..... but shes turning out to be a real freak ! :dance013:

any one elses autos show any triple cotyledon / triploid plants ?
and does a triple cotyledon seedling mean it will turn into a full on triploid ?

Interesting cross, is it 100% auto? AF landrace sounds great, especially the ones you mentionned! How's the end product (smell, taste, high)?
BTW this is a trifoliate plant, not a triploid (haploid, diploid, triploid, tetraploid, etc, refer to the number of copies of chromosomes in the cell ie. diploid = 2n chromosomes, where n is the number of different chromosomes). Sometimes trifoliates outgrow this trait, sometimes not. GMT had a very interesting thread on this topic:

Best of luck with your grow :joint:

I haven't seen it in an auto yet, but i had a couple do it when i was going through some kodiak gold seeds. Mine always seemed to grow out of it a few nodes up, but if it stays true you get a free bud site per node. Most of the top buds get a bizzar upside down u shape... Almost like a big harry vag :D If i had a pic kickign around i would post it up. I'll try to dig one up.

Keep us updated, i would like to see how it looks after a few weeks growth.

first off thanks for your replys ....

yes auto landrace does sound great !!!! they where brought when i first found out about autos it was a spanish seed company selling auto landraces i also had an himalaylan blue but lost them early on i had three seeds of each and was going to do breed them seperate and hopefully make some seeds but i had three fems from the uzbeka and three males from the tajikistan so i just let them get on with it anf let them do there thing !

yes they are 100% auto and ive now cracked hundreds of seeds since i started with them !

:yeahthats Cant wait to see what it looks like in a few weeks!

thnakyou ......

! How's the end product (smell, taste, high)?

hey tropic thanks for your detailed answer trifoliate was the word i was looking for ! after reading through my thread i noticed your question so weel here goes ....

buds are not very dense some plants have long thin buds displaying foxtailing (they would make exellent hash) others display more indica tip budding with egg shapeded side branching like the auto uzbekistan mom she was a great plant ive never tryed uzbek landrace weed (as far as i know... ) but if it tastes anything like she did then i but its great stuff the aroma was like the old school weed of the 80's but with a hint of skunk after breeding in the tajikistan she now as a wierd musky smell of skunk but with a hard hitting acrid smell that i cant really put into words the kind of thing what aromatheripy / essential fake cannabis oil would smell like kind of a sweet sickerly skunky fuel smell ........

high is ok heavy put you to sleep kind of stuff after to much not super strong but strong enough to kick your ass and ease your pains in one joint ...i suffer from knee and leg pain this stuff is a great pain easer high lasted for me around two hours before i even thought about another smoke but over all it was not to heavy but great for realxing in the evening time ..

Q ???

i think its wierd how uzbekistan has a indica as its landrace and tajikistan as a staiva as its landrace how is this possible i thought they kind of went on latitude or are i wrong ?? what difines a land race somthing that is truly wild or something that has been grown there for x number of years ?????

Hey aloneinthewoods, thanks for detailing this cross!

Regarding your question on landraces, I believe that even if Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan are next to each other and similar in their latitudes, many micro climates can be found in these places, depending on altitude, humidity, if it's in a valley, in the mountains, etc... I'm no expert on this subject, but I think a wide variety of environmental conditions in these regions favor different expressions of Cannabis.
As an example, in India, most coastal landraces are very sativa and things start looking more indica as you go towards the mountains (I haven't seen this personally, this is what I've been told but it does make sense in my opinion).
Check this thread on Afghan Sativas and Uzbeki giant plants (a great read, thanks Zamalito):

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=25927

I don't know what exactly qualifies a strain as a "landrace", I'd be tempted to say a landrace is a naturally occuring (because of natural selection in time) group of plants that have certain recurrent traits in common.
However, nowadays many cultivars (man selected) are sometimes called landraces, just because these specific genes have been isolated from exterior sources for years and thus, have acquired, or stabilized certain traits. As an example I talk about the local landraces of my island, but Cannabis is not native here, it was brought around 40 years ago. But most of the time when seeing local buds, you can recognize the region the plant came from because of its look, smell, taste and effect. So these are not exactly landraces because they've been partially (but not enough to make it a cultivar in my opinion) selected by man, but they have also been conditionned by their environment, that's why we consider them as our local landraces.
