Utilities in other peoples name

What's the harm in getting utilities in a relative or girlfriends name etc? Can they get in trouble if just the utilities are in their name and they don't associate with rent, grow, selling... NOTHING except the utilities, or does that make them part of the grow?

I'd say harm #1 would be more than you knowing about your grow.

well obviously they wouldn't know it's for a grow.

Too much of a headache.
You have to be added to the account as the main contact...if your other party doesn't know what you are doing you do NOT want them to get a call having to discuss details for what ever of the many possible reasons.
Imagine your friend, GF or who ever being contacted discussing a bill over a few $100/month and not knowing what's going on.

well if you live at a clean spot and your license/car/utilities for that city is registered there, then i got a place in another city over with separate utilities in my name where the grow is only... what happens if you get pulled over and say you got caught with some bud, and decided they wanted to see if you grow also.. would they only look up what utilities i have in the city where my license/car is registered to?

It's called:

meaning don't dig your own hole.

yes but they follow certain protocols, like if you get caught selling they investigate your address on your license and utilities to that residence. So im wondering if they would just look at the clean residence on my license.

why do you think people grow at separate spots? I'm just wondering if they can see 2 different utility accounts in 2 different cities by running my name on my license, which is registered to my safe address.

i know my rights and i know not to talk.

I don't know man, just don't get caught I would say?

I mean if you grow more than just a few plants it is not advisable to sell small scale anyway.

depends on the amount of bud, if you get caught with a couple ounces, they arent goin to look into that, but lets say you get caught with 100lb's of kush, then yea you better shut everything down.

I had this long post typed out, then I realized it was getting way too detailed into my case.

I will tell you people have been charged that had no tie or link to the location, and people who you think should have been the first on the list, haven't even been questioned.

Anything is possible

If you put it in someone elses name, it better be someone you dont see much. If you get pulled over with your GF, with a couple #'s, then find a grow where the bill is in her name, she is screwed. A good atty may beat it but that costs lots of money and hassle.

You could put the electric in the name of a company, like ABC Real Estate. I doubt they would search public records for businesses, then ask the power company for bills in the name of the business. You could also set the company up so it wouldn't be found by searching for your name, but you need a registered agent for that.
