ok.. so I was talking to a friend today.. and he was saying that he heard.. I don't know if this is true or not.. but that the usps ups and fedex are going to be using a sort of Xrap type machines to check packages.. and while checkin packages.. it basicly kills the seeds.. any and all seeds of all kinds? .. is this something new .. or is this some bullshit rumor?

anyone im supposed to be ordering a ton of new genetics in September.. and I really do not want to end up with dead seed.

Are there changes to the mail after it has been irradiated?

Yes. Irradiating mail at such high intensity creates new compounds, which can result in a different look, feel, and even smell. The potential health effects of these changes is unknown. Because of the intensity of the beam, mail often looks yellowed, and can become brittle. Book bindings may become brittle, and plastic may be discolored. Seeds, plants or other biological material will be sterile, and photographic film will be useless. Items such as gem stones may be altered, and computer disks, CDs, and some electronic equipment (like personal digital assistants) may be damaged.

from a website I found.. it says its not happening all over the country yet.. but its possible.?

Had heard something bout all seeds from Spain coming in the states might have this happen due to a quarantine of some sort in the recent past, but its been awhile.

I don't think this is true, if thousands of people ordered veg. & fruit seeds from a commercial supplier like gurneys or burpee & they all arrived unviable these mail companies would have some serious lawsuits coming their way.

Peace

as many good homeade crosses as there around, not to mention making your own, why even buy seeds, especially from across the border, given the terror tightendown, etc?

Exactly. No way the commercial flower and veggy seed lobby lets this happen.
