Exactly the same as finding good females and it all depends on what you’re looking for.

How they grow; easy or finicky; how much they stretch; branching/single cola; how they respond to topping/lst; size/health of root system. Resistance to moulds, pm, pests etc.
How they behave under (led) lights - do their leaves dry out easily. How they handle under/over watering.
How they smell in veg/bloom. Size of tops and calyx to leaf ration. Sex stability ...etc. Just like selecting females.

You can get 10x or 30x loop to check the size of resin gland in veg/bloom.

PS.

How about you start a single thread for your breeding questions and not start a new one for every thing you want to ask. Maybe you can ask a mod to pile them all together and change the title to something that suits you.
There are many discussions here for most of your questions already. Do some reading first before you start a new thread. Don't be so lazy, bro.

You can always try reversing the male and then evaluate it the same way you would a female. But in the end, the only true way to know the "quality" of the male is by the quality of his offspring-one of the many reasons good breeding is a long road.
