using iponic 600 to control window ac

I have been trying to figure out how to do this and the best I could find on the innerwebs was to bypass the unit and use relays to control condenser and fan. I felt like all I needed to do was check to see how thermostat works and use it to fool the ac. I pulled a 5000 apart and found that it's thermostat controlled a 120v switch and decided that I could override that with a relay or just run 120v to it from the controller. So then i went to my lg 24,500 btu and pulled the panel apart and found the thermostat and went to disconnect it but thought that a nice ac like that would have an analog switch.
Has anyone done this and can give me some pointers?

If your air conditioner is a dc inverter unit, better to bypass the controller altogether since all it does it turn it on/off, dc inverters are efficient by changing the speed of the compressor and would not be efficient if controlled by simply being turned on/off by a controller. Of course you could still use a controller if you wanted to.

I think lammy https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=252424 figured it out. as long as its not over cooling out acting up other wise and your goal is to have lower night temps set your ac for a little warmer than desired temp and have the controller trigger an incandescent that is wrapped in tinfoil and hooked to the thermostat. I haven't tried it yet but will b4 i go chopping any wires.
