Using "hash"-Shatter-Others for baking

Well as a senior smoker of more than 50 years toking I've never gotten into the old brownies in the day etc but recently somebody gave me some of these snickerdoodles cookies and they are working on my pain better than anything I've smoked. I would like to get into this and find more sources and also recipes to make our own although we're not bakers in any sense.


I have a box full of these "hash" things. Quite a bit of it actually and I'll never smoke it. I guess we just don't click together but I was wondering if anyone uses these hash's or budders, shatters etc in baking cookies and other edibles instead of flowers? Do I just sprinkle it in each cookie ( approximate the amount per cookie? ) or coffee cake etc? Speaking of which, nobody has bigger crumbs than entenmans giant crumb crumb cake but I remember when I was a kid my Mother and some of the other kids in the hood's Mom's were into some kind of crumb coffee cake competition so it has to be possible and if it's possible how can we make a cannabis infused super crumb crumb cake? Then again what do you like and would you care to share your recipe with us?

Just cook the hash into some butter on low heat. Use the butter in your cookie or brownie recipe. You can calculate the dose per edible by using the desired amount of hash per batch. It works well in my experience. The edibles will have less of a weed flavor compared to using bud or trim.

In the early '80's I had a great hash connection..

I used to buy 250 gram "hockey pucks" of black Indian hash, wrapped in the same red paper that firecrackers used to come in...
And I made chocolate chip cookies with a lot of it...

I weighed the black hash carefully and made cookies in 1/3 gram and 1/2 gram sizes..
I would soften the hash over a flame and crumble it onto each mound of cookie dough..

The 1/3 grammers would get me and my friends really stoned all day.

the 1/2 grammers? Well, when i ate 1 of them I needed a friend to lead me around by the hand all day!:biggrin:

I don't suppose my own sifted kief is quite as good or as strong as the Indian hash, (maybe it is) but those amounts are what I would start with...

PS.. if you're making a tray of individual cookies with hash or kief, I see no need to make butter with it first...

I found that 0.3 of decarbed Gumby hash in a cake was lovely... next day I ate 3 of them and it was mildly trippy, a little too much

I make snickerdoodles from the betty crocker mix. That rosin/hash should work OK melted into butter. You'll get about 40-50 cookies with dough balls just under 1" to an inch. The decarb step when you melt the goodies into the butter will be important since that rosin/hash hasn't been decarbed. Watch the bubbles for when is long enough. I would add lechithin after the decarb step while the butter is hot. I use about 1 tsp per 1/2 cup butter. It needs to be stirred in well.
