Using dried Nettle/Comfrey/Dandelion Leaves

Hello all. I am getting ready to buy bulk amounts of the leaves in the title to make teas as well as use to feed my worm bin. I have found large amounts of dried, chopped and sifted leaves online. Will these work as well as fresh leaves? Or is fresh the preference? Just wondering before I fork over the money.

Damn bro, you don't have space to grow them, even a couple pots on a balcony. seems a waste to buy leaves?

I have the space, but I'm not growing nettles. Those things spread like crazy. Also I am using them to support a year round indoor and outdoor growing as well as feed my worm bin. I am not sure, but I don't know if I can keep up with my need with a few pots. Sure an addition to my garden next year might suffice for the comfrey. But my old lady ain't going to let me plant a shit load of nettles and dandilions...she already thinks I'm crazy enough :)

After a night of thinking I will take the advice. I have ordered seeds for all three plants, and I can play around with the best way to grow them for my uses. Starting out with attempting to do an indoor grow with them over the winter. Thanks for the input from both of you.

You probably want to put your nettle in container planting media. They accumulate Cobalt which increases the chance for male flowers on female plants. Very few plants accumulate this element. Its pretty obscure for me to know that really, but I'm fairly certain its real.

Make sure to pasteurize anything from outside you bring in side...unless you like fighting pests and disease.

like you guys agree fresh is better than dried like for teas (human consumption). it just made me think of this scenario tho, where youre growing weed but almost need a guerrila grow for the plants to feed the weed. i would suggest to look up those plants tho. comfrey can be big and is beneficial for its massive rooting thru soil. Its a beautiful outdoor yard plant, with lots of uses for some people, should go a season or 2 before being used but once established great. and dandelions. that could be a cool thing inside, get mychorrhizae, but these three give benefits best in turning land over. if its just for a worm bin, do you eat vegetables at a normal rate? fruit? that would be far more practical and actually work out. im having a hard time justifying timothy and clovers for my guinea pig, but wouldnt really try dandelions.
