Using Barn as Light Dep Greenhouse

I have a 2000 sq ft barn that I want to use in place of a light dep greenhouse by moving the plants in and out of the building every 12 hrs. Sounds like a crazy amount of work but considering the cost of a 2000 sq ft light dep kit I think it's worth a shot

The issue is being able to move 2000 sq ft of plants by myself in less than 30 min. Any advice on engineering a solution would be much appreciated.

I have already considered having the plants in pots on pallets, moving pallets using a skidsteer loader or manual all terrain pallet jack.

Instead I want to open an entire wall of the barn and have the plants on long racks that could be pulled out of the barn like drawers in a filing cabinet. Any ideas on how to make this happen?

I use milk crate and an engine moving stand I made ..it holds 4 milk crates.. I wheel it too garage it hold 4 large crates a run ..I can be done in minutes...but I can weld and fabricate I suggest you making one too.....yeehaw...sunlight is fucking free..i got small wheels as my area is concrete you can use bigger wheels for soil /rougher surfaces easily...been there done that...I also use shopping carts...your idea is one I have longed to achieve but have yet to make practical..it just has never worked out that way...let me know if ya ever accomplish it..i put forks on my bobcat once and moved pallets but now am back in city...maybe make em all on pallets with wheels and a train..train in and out..if barn has 2 entrances it would work ..your own weed train...

This is not unheard of, heard story from dude who was shopping the hills. Said,
"Coolest thing man, it was like a Shed on tracs man. Like gate tracs and one of those shitty sheet metal sheds attached to the wheels. Just Add timer and gate Chain motor.
Boom Light Dep"
hope you like the story

You can also remove the roof material, replace with polycarbonate panels, and make your own manual dep. Depending on the roof height this is very possible. I have done it a few times using the amish/garden sheds. Works amazing!

Great idea you could do a staggered harvest every mth then only have to move part of the plants I think pallets and a skid steer would be dope .ive been doing this for yrs on my deck but smaller scale by hand .best of luck to ya.:)

I know a guy who uses shipping containers the same way. Very effective for him. He even outfits em with fans and dehumidifiers. I forget how he moves the plants, heavy duty wagon or something

I'm doing this on a small scale this year with a lightproof 8x12 shed built onto the end of my 24x12 hoop house. Well, it's not built yet but we are picking up the building materials this week in town. I'll be using a moving dolly to move the 15 gallon pots into the shed to start 12/12 early august so I'm for sure harvesting by end of September. I'm at near 3000feet(980M) 52.5N in western Canada so got plan accordingly

Use the barn as a station, and build a mini railroad with a train that hauls them outside, and then back in for the night. Choo choo!
