Using an extractor fan to circulate air in grow area

Hi, I had a couple of oscillating fans in my last grow that were the noisiest things in the room, especially the one on a stand which vibrated down into the floor.

I had a quiet extractor fan though which I was thinking I could place the inlet on the floor of one side of the grow space and exhaust it down into the space at the high opposite corner. I'm imagining it would create a constant circular movement of air around the grow space.

Also, if I used a cabon filter it would give the air an initial scrubbing of smells before the main extractor took it out of the grow space.

Has anyone got a setup like this or can see any problems with it? I was wondering would there be enough circulation and is scrubbed air healthy for plants (aka is it just odors that are removed)?

Thanks!

I have a buddy that went from 8 16" fans to 4 10" inline fans(one in each corner all moving air the same way). He swears it worked better and that his ac was more efficient. Way to really know would be to add up the cfms of the inline fans vs the o fans. You could even put build silencers for the inlines to quiet them further.

Yeah, my friend's extractor with silencer was what gave me the idea, made my o fans sound like a train! Don't know the cfms of the o fans so would take a bit of trial and error...
I know the filter would take out odors but would it also affect things like humidity or anything else?

Humidity no, but the inline fans do generate heat, weather it would be more than the o fans idk. Personally I'd think it would work just fine, only drawback being the cost of the inline fans.

Adding the carbon filter to scrub would trap odors and air born particulates but wouldn't sterilize the air. Ozone generators would be more inline for that.

I just run my 8" inline with a carbon filter attatched, filter on the floor with the fan on top with a 90* elbow to direct the air. Quite and multi tasking. I don't use any other circulation fans.

Peace

Are you using it for odor removal? Do you know how many times per minute your grow room air is being scrubbed?
