Using a window for venting?

Is it wise to use a window to vent in fresh air?
Also... is it wise to use an opposite window to vent out hot air?

The air coming out is going to be scrubbed.

I am also wondering about outside temps being too cold/hot... what is the best way to get air in and out without large fluctuations in temperatures?

well using a window in the winter can cause issues.

I would suggest intaking your air from another room. I use my basement as an intake. and out the window area on the other side.

The other issue using the window, could be bugs that might come in through your intake.

Mind you i dont use a scrubber or a complex circulation system. I would be concerned that it might raise eyebrows or unwanted attention with a blower so close to a window as well as it just seems unusual to see.. The other inherent issue I would think would be the light beaconing out the window. Personally I would lean towards a dryer vent or tying into a exhaust pipe in the roof.

If you're going to use an outside window for fresh air intake I recommend a hepa filter, which fits over the ducting. They come in various sizes. Also a thermostat to regulate temperature so that your fans don't keep going if the temps inside get too low or too high depending on the weather outside. I pull air from outside and vent outside through a window opposite of it ..

I would keep the window cracked in the room I had my tent setup. The fresh air makes so much difference in yield. All that CO2 exchange really does help and you will be happy come harvest. I just used a pocketknife to keep it open about a half inch. The cold air also keeps temps steady which is just as important :joint:

Leaving a window partially open would be enough ventilation? Or would you still require something to pull or push air into or out the room?

If you're in a house, would it be possible to vent scrubbed air straight into an attic? Most attics are vented. I haven't seen this method mentioned and wonder if there's a problem with venting this way?

That is how I use to vent my room. I had a window box hooked up to a 6'' venting my lights and then a 12'' venting my room.

Mafutero - Air naturally moves from hot to cold. Leave a window cracked and the warm air will mix with the cool air, thus giving you lower temperatures and more C02.
