USB Microscope for macro

It works ok.
Cost me $20 im sure that one would be nice.

Doubtful mate, I reckon it's powered by the usb. If you had a laptop you could simply take it into your growroom, or if you really were interested you could get a usb extension cable (I think they do up to 5M -15 feet). They even make remote usb connections but I think that would be getting a bit too expensive.

Interesting little microscope too, it goes to 400x Imagine a giant trichome shot

usb is just 5v so you can chop an usb cable, and put the 5v there with a battery!

searched a while, and someone already made that, but with a rechargeable battery:

But how would you get the image onto the computer? Then surely it'd just be a really expensive version of a pocket microscope from radio shack.

oh i thought it was just like that, like taking a microscopic picture onto the device, and then you could plug it on the computer, i didn't realise it worked like a scanner or so that has to be connected to the pc.

anyway i just use my camera to take pics, i don't need microscopic definition.. only macroscopic! altough i do have a microscope somewhere..might be a good time to search for it

There was a kiddies toy one for the tv someone posted, looked like a big eyeball on a handle with a cup on the end...puts the image on the tv screen...

The scope I have is a toy realy. Im sure the more expensive scopes would put out a nicer pic.

Im getting a nice camera with a nice macro setting. But this scope does let me ck my trics. which is what I got it for.

Is your scope the same one that was in the link in the first post of this thread ?

The close up is there it is just that the digital camera on the regular microscope lens (be it 400x or less) is only no more than about 1 mp megapixel for the $100 dollar range ones. There are some with around 4 and higher mp's but the price goes up considerably quadrupling or more from $100. They have some scopes without the digital camera, but do not know if there are cameras that fit onto those microscopes that have 10 megapixels or more. A 400x lens on a 10 mp camera would be sharp and clear. Also for the regular cameras, a 400x macro lens is not easily findable at the moment. And the digital camera USB macroscopes do need to come with way more light, or a shot under the HID might just do it.

I love playing with my USB microscope it does 50X - 200X magnification
It will do stills, time-lapse- and use like a webcam its real cool.. About 50 euros +shipping.....
