USB Digital Microscope

For those of you that like to get up close and personal with your herb, what kind of USB Digital Microscope do you use? What is the brand you have? Are you happy with it? Where did you buy it? How much was it? I'm looking for a good digital microscope. I'm not looking for a top-of-the-line one but a decent one with at least a 200x zoom. The main reason I want one is to look at my cannabis. Any help and input is greatly appreciated!

I've never used one myself but have seen some impressive pics from others who use them. Now if all you're looking for is a way to check your weed you don't need something that extreme a 30X loupe will get you close enough. Another option if you have a decent camera with a macro mode you can get somewhere in between the loupe and the microscope the downside is you got to get the image onto you computer before you can see it. What's good about the camera and the loupe is that you can check the trichomes without having to cut anything off first. With something at 200X you're going to need to be perfectly still and that usually means cutting something off to place on a still surface under the microscope.

Looks alot like the one ive been using hempcat. I have a few handheld lopes that are 30x. they are Fine for looking at trichomes, but you need something that can go to at least 100x to see certain bugs...ie broads and russets which are 1/150 of an inch ! smaller than the tip of a needle !! but you are correct , its nearly impossible to use a usb scope without removing some leaf to examine.

hey puffin, no worries ! So far the conclusion Im at is that most of these scopes perform quite similarly,many look very similar to each other, and I have read that most are produced at the same factory in china, and just sold under different names. However I do believe that the higher end brands , dino and such offer a better product however the price is double to triple, but you might get better images more easily.
