Usage Question

This is definetly a dumb azz nube question but would like to hear what you guys think. I recently moved into a house and am going to be starting my grow next week. I will only be using a floro for the next few weeks until ready to throw under my 400w mh. My question is this....should I leave my lights in the house on for the next month or so to offset the elec. hike? As soon as I start flower I will be using an additional 1k Hps as well. My electricity provider is not a the typical huge edison or whatever but the city provides the electricity where I live. I figure with it not being a huge company with hundreds of thousands of users it might be easier to monitor my usage. So would it be wise to run the shit out of my electricity until I'm ready for the 2 lights to kick in and then start turning out the lights throughout the house?

I wouldnt worry! but I'm not from the same area! I've been reading around that ase long you dont rip off the electric company, your ok! that goes for a smal operation like yours! I would start worrying once you get 4x1000w hps for flower and 4x1000w mh for veg! lol,, 1000w is nothing! your good for 1x1000w for every bedroom they say!

have fun!

Consider your electric usage in the new digs.........change out all bulbs for CFL's including the porch lights. Turn OFF the PC when not in use. IF the home is all electric or not, if you have an electric stove use the smallest "burner" so to speak, electric water heaters, set the temp lower and take showers instead of baths, washing machine and dryers, do full loads. Turn OFF the home entertainment system when not in use, dishwashers, do full loads, pre rinse dishes and use economy wash setting. Use lower thermostat settings in winter, gas or electric, as the system still uses juice to run the blower(s).

Use the ideas that will work in your instance.
