States That Have Decriminalized

The following states have passed laws decriminalizing marijuana. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation.

Alaska
California
Colorado
Maine
Minnesota
Mississippi
Nebraska
Nevada
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Oregon

I was not aware of this coolness - Maybe some others are living under a rock too..

You can go to the individual state on there & check the laws - I was blown away by the amount you can possess & the amount you can cultivate with just a misdemeanor & small fine..

:)

So what's changed then, please give us update
I'm not saying what, specifically, although I can attest to the fact that at least 2 of those states listed have changed their laws since Norml published that info.

To find out what the laws are in your state/city/province, ask a cop, a lawyer or go to your state/city/province's website and look up their penal code for drug offenses. It's all right there and presumably more accurate than Norml's site.

Whooo - North Carolina leading the south in progressive pot laws. Our laws may not be as good as California or something but hey... its the south. Give us a break!

Well in ohio under an ounce is 100 dollar fine and creates no record..... sounds great right.....

till they hit you with paraphenalia for the bag it came in which is punishible by up to 1000 dollars and 90 days in jail i believe, and this does create a record.
And yes I have seen people get charged paraphenalia for the bag.

There isn't an answer to that problem, thats the point. They just want us to think that we have rights, and that the police are not That Bad.... But they are that bad.

In Alabama we have mandentory sentenceing for drug violations. We dont for violent crimes. In Alabama you can kill someone just cause you felt like it and serve less time in prison than if you are caught growing weed. Seems kinda backwards to me.
