not sure what to say about this, it will be a huge power until everyone uses it and then you get a big mess of bots talking to each other lmao......

No Conspiracy: US military seeks to control your Facebook

US Army seeks new intel tool able to understand social media posts in languages including Russian, Arabic and French, and which can post answers on its own

by Seraphim Hanisch

For years the conspiracy theorists have claimed that Facebook is a CIA front operation, and that it serves as a way to track everyone in the USA. In the most recent years, especially from the time of the 2016 Presidential elections to now, Facebook, Twitter, Google and other platforms which allow social media have been charged with being biased and “against” the posting and activities of people who dissent with the way the government and powers-that-be want you to think.

Today we find some rather clear evidence that the US Army wants to truly have access to private citizen accounts in social media, and they want to have the tools to observe AND post things in the same idiom and style, apparently, as though it were you making the posts. We appear to be somewhere beyond the tinfoil hat stage now.

So, who is hacking whom now?

Here we show excerpts from the request made by INSCOM (The United States Army Intelligence and Security Command). The boldface type is mine for emphasis. First, we look at the purpose of INSCOM:

INSCOM has an Administrative Control (ADCON) relationship with 1st Information Operations Command. INSCOM G7 executes materiel and materiel-centric responsibilities as a Capability Developer and as the Army proponent for design and development of select operational level and expeditionary intelligence, cyber, and electronic warfare systems. 1st Information Operations Command (Land) provides IO and Cyberspace Operations support to the Army and other Military Forces through deployable support teams, reachback planning and analysis, specialized training, and a World Class Cyber OPFOR in order to support freedom of action in the Information Environment and to deny the same to our adversaries.

Additional Info: This RFI requests a vendor service and not hardware/firmware/software, and therefore should not require an Authority to Operate (ATO) or a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN). 1st IO Command has identified areas for which we are requesting White Papers from Industry on mature COTS solutions with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of at least 7, relevant to the following Focus Areas and requirements:

0001: Content Translation of PAI

A. Capability to translate foreign language content (message text, voice, images, etc.) from the social media environment into English. Required languages are Arabic, French, Pashtu, Farsi, Urdu, Russian, and Korean.

B. Identify specific audiences through reading and understanding of colloquial phrasing, spelling variations, social media brevity codes, and emojis.

1. Automated capability for machine learning of foreign language content with accuracy comparable to Google and Microsoft Bing Translate. Must be able to incrementally improve over time.

2. Recognize language dialect to ensure effectual communication.

0002: Automated Sentiment Analysis (SA)

A. Capability to derive sentiment from all social media content.

1. At minimum, distinguish negative, neutral, and positive sentiment based on collective, contextual understanding of the specific audience.

a) Capability to determine anger, pleasure, sadness, and excitement.

2. Capability to recognize local colloquial and/or slang terms and phrases, spelling variations, social media brevity codes, capitalization, and emojis will be included.

3. Automated machine learning of SA must be able to incrementally improve over time.

a) Software should allow for heuristic updates to improve overall capability; e.g., manually suggest updates based on personal knowledge and experience.

B. Capability to suggest whether specific audiences could be influenced based on derived sentiment.

0003: Content Generation Based off of PAI

A. Capability to translate English into Arabic, French, Pashtu, Farsi, Urdu, Russian, and Korean.

B. Automated capability to generate/create at least three, and up to 10, unique statements derived from one (1) original social media statement, while retaining the meaning and tone of the original.

1. Customize language in a dialect consistent with a specific audience including spelling variations, cultural variations, colloquial phrasing, and social media brevity codes and emojis.

0004: Assessment

1. Capability to continually inform MOE with/through sentiment analysis, content generation, and new target audience content.

2. Capability for end user to extract empirical data and visualize metrics of service, including number of content samples translated, number of content samples generated, number of content samples downloaded, number of conversations influenced by generated content, etc.

0005: Data Protection and Management

Data protection will meet all standing DoD regulatory and security protocols.

This is a formidable request for a quite powerful eavesdropping AND propaganda disseminating application. It is also not the first time the military has sought or deployed such an application. The Guardian reported that the US Military had software in use six years ago that was able to create propaganda videos that used fake online personas. Now it appears that the military wants to piggyback – or hijack – REAL people’s accounts to do a similar purpose.

Is this helpful? Is this the proper way to conduct this kind of warfare? The military establishment appears to think so. However, this author has concerns about the privacy rights of American citizens, including the right to disagree, vehemently with the policies and directions taken by the government. We are a representative republic, and that means the government is supposed to work FOR us, not “take care of us.”

This last, of course, is a problem we Americans have gotten ourselves into by ceding personal responsibility to think for ourselves, and to gradually come to think of Uncle Sam as, really, some kind of uncle that takes care of us. But that was never the intention of the founders of this land, and truly, we have only ourselves and our laziness to blame for the military thinking that they can exercise this kind of power against any one of us.

Maybe we should get ourselves 1000 smoking monkeys

The CIA has always been very GOP. Good luck with their world quest for crusades. Feel sorry for the bastards since they are so delusion 100% of the time. They couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

Really bad part is they influence a lot of peoples minds. I rarely meet people that think for themselves. Most people don't research any of their beliefs. They as myself too, search for validation if they search at all. Most just watch TV and find brainwashing to be entertainment.

Then there are some that are aware. But there is no real solid organization to expose the truth as a whole. The only thing Uniting America are lies. We really aren't that secure because we cause the most damage.

Sooner or later they're gonna implode themselves. I've known some nasty people that worked for Uncle Sam and they are just plain old bad people. Usually crack heads and alcoholics if they aren't gobbling down psych meds. Yet they still believe in all the shit that goes on as being a solid foundation.

I just don't think bombing neighborhoods is going to make friends. Call me crazy, but karma is a real force.

anyway, damn Putin is a smart cookie. he wants control over the internet in Russia, not that they can be sanctioned off the web or cut off, like they are threatening to do with the swift money transfer system.

Russia plans to create an 'independent internet' by 2018 to protect it from 'global internet malfunctions' - but critics say the plan could make it easier to launch its own attacks

The Russian government has revealed plans to develop an ‘independent internet’ that operates separately from the Domain Name System used worldwide.

During a recent meeting of the Russian Security Council, officials discussed an initiative to create an alternative to the DNS, claiming the move could protect Russia and a handful of other nations in the event of a large-scale cyberattack.

But, some suspect it could be a way for Russia to launch its own malicious operations, according to DefenseOne.

The independent internet would cover the ‘BRICS’ nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

According to Russian news site RT, Russian President Vladimir Putin is targeting August 1, 2018 for its completion.

The alternative DNS is designed to protect the BRICS nations ‘in the event of global internet malfunctions.’

And, it would operate outside the control of international organizations.

At a meeting in October, members of the council said the plan comes as ‘the increased capabilities of western nations to conduct offensive operations in the informational space as well as the increased readiness to exercise these capabilities pose a serious threat to Russia’s security,’ according to RT.

The independent internet would give the BRICS national governments more control over their countries’ web use.

In the past, Russian officials have insisted that the nation is not looking to detach from the global internet, but instead protect it from ‘possible external influence.’

‘Russia’s disconnection from the global internet is of course out of the question,’ Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said in 2014, according to RT.

Peskov also added, ‘recently, a fair share of unpredictability is present in the actions of our partners in both the US and the EU, and we must be prepared for any turn of events.’

The spokesman then went on to say the nation has to ‘think about how to ensure our national security.’

During a recent meeting of the Russian Security Council, officials discussed an initiative to create an alternative to the DNS, claiming the move could protect Russia and a handful of other nations in the event of a large-scale cyberattack.

In light of the new plan, however, experts are not convinced that the move is entirely about national security concerns.

Using an independent internet would reduce some of the risks of hacking an opponent, according to DefenseOne.

The alternative DNS would keep the key trading partners connected – and separate from the target of attacks.

‘There is a deep irony in Russia citing the increased capabilities of Western nations going attacks in the informational space,’ technologist Peter Singer told DefenseOne.

‘It is like the fake social media account of the pot calling the kettle fake.’

So far AI is only doing what instructed to do. The game plan they use is pretty dumb. They try to mess with your heart. Playing on guilt and other negative emotions. Might be why there are so many social failures.

I think they just want a better puppet capable of better social media posts than the president.
And yeah, sounds crazy, but I bet things are even crazier than that already regarding social media & mobile devices surveillance.

It is probably the most subtle and most well thought out social engineering programs happening over many decades that are the most effective...

Artificial Intelligence will look to speed that all up some.

Computers are getting better than humans at reading
by Sherisse Pham

Jack Ma: 'We shouldn't fear AI'
The robots are coming, and they can read.

Artificial intelligence programs built by Alibaba (BABA) and Microsoft (MSFT) have beaten humans on a Stanford University reading comprehension test.

"This is the first time that a machine has outperformed humans on such a test," Alibaba said in a statement Monday.

The test was devised by artificial intelligence experts at Stanford to measure computers' growing reading abilities. Alibaba's software was the first to beat the human score.

Related: Google is opening an artificial intelligence center in China

Luo Si, the chief scientist of natural language processing at the Chinese company's AI research group, called the milestone "a great honor," but also acknowledged that it is likely lead to a significant number of workers losing their jobs to machines.

The technology "can be gradually applied to numerous applications such as customer service, museum tutorials and online responses to medical inquiries from patients, decreasing the need for human input in an unprecedented way," Si said in a statement.

Alibaba has already put the technology to work on Singles Day, the world's biggest shopping bonanza, by using computers to answer a large number of customer service questions.

In a tweet, Pranav Rajpurkar, one of the Stanford researchers who developed the reading test, called Alibaba's feat "a great start to 2018" for artificial intelligence.

Related: These three countries are winning the global robot race

The Stanford test generates questions about a set of Wikipedia articles.

For example, a human or AI program reads a passage about the history of British TV show Doctor Who and then answers questions like, "What is Doctor Who's space ship called?" (Spoiler alert: It's the TARDIS, for non-Doctor Who fans out there.)

Alibaba's deep neural network model scored 82.44 on the test on January 11, narrowly beating the 82.304 scored by the human participants. A day later, Microsoft's AI software also beat the human score, with a result of 82.650.

"These kinds of tests are certainly useful benchmarks for how far along the AI journey we may be," said Andrew Pickup, a spokesman for Microsoft. "However, the real benefit of AI is when it is used in harmony with humans," he added.

Facebook (FB), Tencent (TCEHY) and Samsung (SSNLF) have also previously submitted AI models to the Stanford project.

i actually think this is not about pretending to be someone else on face book, this is about them making it seem like the majority is for or against something. also allows them to infiltrate sites and create norms on the site by having a bunch of bots likeing and agreeing with each other till the real people start to wonder about what ever controrary opinion they might hold. really dangerous tool imo. as far as i read they had tools like this already for a while, but not fully automated, you still need 1 soldier to manage 50 fake accounts, now they want this to be automated, no saleries to be paid.

so if they want to start a new war, like on Iran lets say, even though 70% of the country wants nothing to do with bombing Iran, let alone actually declaring war. with this tool, they will be able to flood social media with posts that will be pro war. they will have the best reasons in the world, so many will post about Iranian nukes or chem weapons that it will become a given thyt they are just waiting for an excuse to set something off. people are naturally sheep like, if they get the feeling that everyone is for the war, they will start to wonder if they are wrong to be against. remember they will tell us some really convincing lies to justify the war. this is way too much power for any military to poses.

ofcourse they won't be using this tool in peace, there will be others, wanting the same power. i'm sure the Russians and Chinese are working on their own versions, while Israel is probably already working with such chat bots, they are way ahead of the curve when it comes to online opinion making and information desimination.

That's exactly what they're doing.

I started posting on the Facebook pages of independent newspapers outside the US.

Just the facts, no swearing, about 20th & 21st century American history. Basically presenting facts & data that directly contradict US gov. press releases.

Also, questioning US gov. actions & policy.

Account was suspended "for security reasons".

The internet was created to be a weapon. It was solely for Govt communication.

It can still be a weapon and very much is. One against or for health, for or against ignorance, for or against anything. There are very few neutral platforms online.

Over all it's an expression of humans. Lot's of k9 pics too!
