ill try to help because ive been there too mate with my aero cloner..

Get back to basics then try the aero later.

id recomend using a standard cloneing crib or a lunch box with cling wrap for the lid.. Under flouro lighting. Too much light can cause problems making clones use the leaves too fast looking for food and may cause heat issues, a standard desk lamp works but i like the 2 or 4foot standard flouro tubes.. could go the step further and buy grolux flouro globes very cheep $8 Us. + the battern maby $15

Start by mixing up a bucket of soak solution for the rock wool cubes..
1/0ec of veg nute
rhizotonic or root booster
Ph 5.8

add the cubes wait 5 10 minutes stir then recheck and adjust PH it can change with some brands of rock wool.. soak for a few hours keeping an eye on PH.

turn lights on and set up the crib, rock wool cant directly sit on base of crib or it will be too wet so you can buy rock wool cube holders OR a 3cm bed of perlite does the same thing keeps cube above water level.. Add about 500ml of your soak solution to crib with bed of perlite and close vents.. moisture should start to build even without an perfectly air tight crib and no plants inthere if it doesnt (can do in winter) maby a heat mat is needed..

The rock wool is now about ready, each cube needs about 75% of the water content shaked out not squeezed. 4 big flicks normally does the trick, cubes should look dry but still have alittle weight.

Being that youve had dramas lets be clean and tidy and do one clone at a time. Use new scalple blades, scissors wiped clean with bleach and use a new bottle of clone hormone. Cut stem off atleast 2 nodes longer than you need with scissors, prep the node your going to cut below on or off plant by removing leaves and preflowers, shave or slice a couple of millimeters below that node then under water do your 45 cut cleanly, if stem squashes or doesnt cut clean start again with new or more woody stem or use a fresh blade i get 6clones per blade if cutting under water on wood ceramic plate will make the blade blunt fast....

as you do each clone get them in the crib before they wilt could then foliar spray with a root booster and maby a fungicide i use silica, all vents closed for the first 3 days by about day 5 you may need to water about 15ml or same mix as the soak per 1inch cube.. then again around day 8.

roock wool is easy buit you need the conditions to be right, dont open the vents too early my last batch of clones i opened the vents when first rooted they where fine but the others that hadnt rooted took an extra 5 days to show..

Dont think of clones as money there is alot of work inbetween.

Well, shit!! Heat is a big thing down in the heart of Tx and I know that now *grin*
With an air unit the room still gets in the 80's but the water stays in the 70's What if I put a dome on top of the ez-cloner??? I guess a little down time is in order!!!!

*grin*

Okay, here we go. Don't know about these bubblers and domes and starter cubes and this and that and the other. What I do know, is I like soil. Yes, it does take longer, so if time is an issue, maybe not for you. Though, it isn't that MUCH longer. Tiny light in a tote lined with foil, foliar spray with water only twice a day until you see the tell-tale signs of rooting. Small fan with faint breeze on them and...voila!
The tinier ones seen in the pic are the Widows that were taken a couple weeks into flowering. Have been slow while reverting along with establishing roots. 3 big ones are the mango which I have been keeping on my "slow burn" using a 20watt full spectrum. Have now introduced the 42watt and will soon be setting them up with another 42 watter and the original 20 watt full spectrum as well. Piss poor set-up compared to most I see, but I like the results, as this is my first attempt at cloning. Some tweeking and fine tuning the next time, along with being better prepared from the start and I will only see better results. Low maintenance cloning, as far as I am concerned. Just my two cents. Enjoy and keep it lit.

or one hell of a haircut for mom dukes..lol...whichever way you wanna look at it. What type of rooting agent are you using? Olivias, Docs, Clonex, shultz etc....did u prep the mom? next time flush the mama for a week with plain water, this will leach out unwanted ferts and build up carbohydrates to help with turgor. The trick is not to spoil them lads, but rather than starve(force) them to root. I also like to top each clone and trim the fingers a bit- to promote downward root growth..Last thing Keep it CLEAN...rinse containers with peroxide, use fresh water, wear gloves-new razor and it never hurts to gargle with some listerine. Personaly, i like dip-n-grow..follow instructions but add a drop of peroxide to the mix. I dont like using heating pads, and Im a big fan of cold water to first soak the cubes, add no heat for the first 48 hrs...you want them to be in a state of stasis until they adjust to the new enviroment. Hope this helps!

btw- i threw away my 30 site ez-clone...it worked for a while, but i found better results with rockwool...i dont like them cuz they are loud and it come with no dome. The lil red emmitters clog and need frequent cleanings..a nice system to set and forget..but one sick clone will spoil the bunch..and thats all she wrote......

OK,ok that's all fine and dandy... But, when working with water can I start them in soil, peat pellets, cubes or rockwool??? Then take them to the hydro system???

*grin*

well i grow soil too, but i've experimented with hydro and i used my peat pellets and the plants def. grew, i just had no pH pen so i had horrible pH but they grew, so my answer is yes :2cents:

I only use peat in hydro and have used rockwool to some extent, they both give the plants good anchors and support anyway.
Peat always works well for me no matter what, both soil and hydro, and I've stuck to that so far.
Rockwool made them bump in hydro, they love it, but the PH thing is a bitch depending on the brand, making conditioning the rockwool and not overwatering a must, the rockwool hold alot of water making it tricky, if the medium is too wet, the roots won't grow and may rot.
The main things that sabotaged my clones in the past were:

- Too much heat - (I no longer use heat pads nor put the dome too close to the light and have 99% success.) This causes that shady black slimy shit we call Pithium wilt and it spreads!

- Too much moisture/water pooling in the dome - Caused mold, both mildew and Grey Mold, also spreads and cuases havoc.

- Too dry - Dried out and wilted or dried roots
