upcurl to fan leaf edges

got sadhu, hasberry, and safari mix.

just switched to 12/12 at about 16 inchs tall in 1 gal pots. planning on transplanting to 3 gal bags once sex is determined.

growing in promix with added blood, bone, and lime per the organic sticky.
suplementing with fox farm 3 part liquid ferts at 1/3 dosage on the back of the bottle and mollases.

experiencing some upcurl on the edges of the fan leaves of some of my babies. kinda almost rolling from the outside up on to the fan leaf.

temps are in the lower 80's steady at 24 on off...just flipped so that should come down.

plants look green healthy and very vigerous (mandala strains). only problem is the upcurl...Any ideas?

Thanks

Got some Pics? I had same problem and was told it was heat stress. How close is the light/ what kind? Also air flow, when the air is stale around um it makes it hard for um to transpire, especialy if humidity is too low.

unfortunatly i dont have pics. But, if you can imagine a five fingered fan leaf with the serrated edges each finger has...the serrated edges on each side of the finger are curling upwards back onto the middle of the leaf.

running a dual ss 1000 (combined mh and hps). glass bottom on the reflector but not air cooled. stanley blower from the Do it yourself section exhausting the room hanging next to the light. 12 inch oscilating fan blowing on the babies. passive intakes at the bottom of the room...maybe not big enough.

if it is truely heat stress im not going to worry too much...just flipped to 12/12 so the temps shoud be coming down. ill monitor the situation and keep you all informed if anything bad happens.

if anyone has any other ideas please let me know. thanks :()

yes you could compare it to that minus all the browning, unhealthy, drooping that is also going on in that pic.
That skinny fan leaf in the middle (with the one curled middle finger) comes the closest to visually describing whats going on but my leaves all stick str8 out and dont curl in a "S" pattern like that one.
I got healthy looking fan leaves with an upcurl on some of my leaves

thanks for posting tha pic and trying to help...any ideas now that we have some visual refrence?

I have some candy shiva that are doing the same thing I think. Edges curling upward like you are rolling a joint but not so deep. I was thinking heat too. Oh yeah, first post

I've seen a lot of plants leaves sort of fold a bit in response to being blasted by a lot of light. Sounds like maybe that's what's happening. Be careful with your heat and humidity. Even switching to 12/12 they will still do that. Maybe move the light away a bit.

Welcome to da boards Helgie.
