Upcoming hair test

Howdy, my wife acquired a new job and is scheduled for a hair follicle test this Friday the 19th. She is not a smoker by any standard and for 22 years has never smoked it. But on Memorial Day weekend, she smoked a little with us and not since then. But now she is overly concerned about the test because apparently it goes back 3 months. I am assuming that's because they look for residues from habitually or regular smoking.
She wants to use a product called"2 Steps Ahead cleansing shampoo" which is gear toward the hair test and works for 24 hours.
Question is first, with that little amount so long ago, is there any worries and second, anyone used this product or have any insight on this kind of thing?
Thanks for the help!!

By no means am I an expert on this but if she only smoked once in 22 years and that was almost 4 months ago I doubt she should be concerned. The metabolites can stay in your system for some time but are constantly being depleted, although slower than most chemicals. The thing about a hair test, once it’s in the hair it’s not metabolized any further because it’s external. Yet for an amount to be in her hair after one time use to result in a positive would seem unlikely because hair grows slowly and I’d think whatever she consumed would be metabolized too quickly for much to get there. Also THC metabolites have more of an affinity to fats so they accumulate in lower concentrations in hair.

As I said I’m not an expert. She could always sport the Sinead O’Conner look and do what Olympic swimmers do…shave her whole body. (Just joking).

Your wife should pass the test with flying colours but does she really want to work for someone who is dictating what she can do in her off time? What is next?

One possibility is to, tell them the truth.

It would be verified by possible presence of THC residues in "old hair" (e.g. long hair on head) but not "new hair" (e.g. arm-pits).

If she shaved her arm-pits early in June but not since then, that hair would have no THC residue.

Samples of Head hair and arm pit hair would then tell the whole story for the Excessively Inquisitive possible new employer.

Well, she tested positive with "traces of THC at the 88th marker. So they CAN narrow it down almost to the day. Couldn't FN believe it.

As it turns out though, the job she originally wanted and had applied for before the drug test one called her back because they made a "huge mistake" in their last hire and the position is reopening. So she accepted the offer and in the end it worked out.

Thanks for all the input.

does anyone know if you can use Thin Layer Chromatography to detect cannabinoids in hair? you can definitely detect the metabolite THC-COOH with it in urine
