Hi ICers. This is our 2nd grow attempt-first was a closet operation that yielded a couple ounces from a plant of sweettooth x bubba kush. Two days after getting the clones from the dispensary our OG kush plants look terrible. The individual who is housing the plants (we have a new grow space/more room/bigger lights now) cut off the fan leaves from those plants in particular once he saw that they weren't doing well. Not sure why he did this. Anyhow-take a look at the pic and let me know if you have any suggestions to get them to perk back up.

So far we've switched lighting from 20/4 to 18/6 on our 430 hps and raised the light. The only thing we have added to the clones-which are still in rockwoll-is superthrive in very moderate dosage-less than 1ml/gal.

Why are they not in soil, medium, or hydro unit?

Standing water will stress your plants, the roots will get brown and it will die. Rockwool dries out quickly if dry and absorbs alot of water if soaked. Who told you to keep them in styrofoam cups with standing water? Get those in soil, medium or a system ASAP.
Looks like you killed 2 already...the roots are begging to grow.

i think they just want to be planted...those cubes dry out quick, right now they look overwatered. whatever medium you're going to use, i suggest you use it now.

The reason that we didn't plant them yet is because we were one hydro unit short...putting them in right away, though.
Thanks!

That's the crazy thing! The 3rd (and most informed) of all of us said on Sunday, "don't touch any of the fan leaves, especially the OG's"...and we woke up to an e-mail with this attachment this morning!

Cutting the leaves encourages root formation in clones, but that obviously was not the problem. If he knew enough to trim leaves in clone, he should at least know the roots need something to grow into....LMAO!
