Underwatering stress, Hermaphrodites and preflowers

A multi point thought.

I was away for a bit and coco seedlings were underwatered for about a week. It now appears that some of the seedlings are showing male preflowers.

Does stress from underwatering cause herms?

Is this just an issue with the preflowers or will these affected plants continue to act as male/female even when normal environmental conditions and watering are resumed?

Of course they havent been put to bloom so it could me a mis diagnosis of sex.

Yes, it can cause more males as well as beginning your lights over 16 hrs while they are young. If you start your plants on a short cycle and slowly add hrs to the photoperiod weekly the plants will be more "normal" and give you a 50/50 ratio or higher ratio of females.
