Underwater Dogs - In Pictures

From the Guardian newspaper:

A Los Angeles photographer called Seth Casteel has spent hours underwater taking pictures of dogs chasing balls. A variety of breeds took part in the shoot including Labradors, a Border Collie, a Dachshund, a Bulldog, a Belgian Tervuren and a King Charles Spaniel.

A Rottweiler swims around.

A Yellow Labrador Retriever fetches a ball.

A diving Dachshund pursues a tennis ball.

A Border Collie and a Yellow Labrador Retriever compete.

A Labrador Retriever pursues a ball.

A Bulldog explores underwater.

A Black Labrador retriever underwater.

My black lab will dive for a "Kong" toy. I limit him to the 5' part of the pool, but he'd try to go to the 10' section if I let him. I trained him by using the steps on the pool......first put the toy on the first step until he was comfortable, then moved to the second step, etc. I've got a few videos of him diving for his toy, but for security reasons, they're not being posted here.

black labs seem to like water a lot

the black labrador i used to have (she died in a traffic accident) really was crazy for swimming. used to run away to jump into the irrigation channels. at the beach she would swim out as far as i was. cool experience
