under staircase for my new spot?

i am moving and need to know if it would be possible to turn my starcase storage into an efficient growroom. my problem comes with trying tocool the place. there is no place for my current window unit. any clever ideas?

remote exhaust using a box for the window a/c and ducting off the back to a vent hole or maybe even a 2" gap cut horizontally across the width of a vertical board just under a step. barely noticeable but a 24" wide 2" tall gap is 48 sq inches which should be plenty of vent space for up to an 8 inch fan.

what's the space like, give some details!

I grew under the stairs for my first grow. It's a small space in my house, but it worked. I used cfl's for mine. HPS would have been waaay more heat than I was able to get rid of. Still harvested over an oz per plant dry. (PPP).

I'm currently one of "The People Under The Stairs" (<----nice thread title...LoL). I grew in 2 18 gal Rubbermaids with CFL's. I pulled 1.75 o's off 1 palnt on the 1st grow & pulled approx 3 o's off the 2nd grow with 2 plants. In dirt & from seed.

If your interested, u can set the whole things up for right around $100. Just do a title search here on IC for Red Greenery. Red with show u the way of the walk....

I have a fam member that is starting their 1st grow under their staris also. Man, I love it when I can show someone else what they can do in a confined area....and they actually decide to do it!! OPERATION OVERGROW, the saga continues....

Just random bagseed. The 1st grow, 1 palnt by itself, was from Kentucky. 2nd grow: The other 2 were from Florida...had an early finisher that provided the bulk (1.5 oz dry) of the weight in the 2 plant grow. The 2nd plant in the 2 plant grow was 2ozs wet but I did not weigh it dry....so the 2nd grow with 2 plants was prolly closer to 2.25 or 2.5 ozs. I do LST like crazy & snap necks when required.

Running TFD's Pure now but hoping to flower in a bigger closet but prolly won't happen in time.

SwampDank.....I've been lurking around this forum for a while now, and decided to pipe in to try to help you slove your issue. In my case, the area under the stairs is about 8ft high and 3ft wide. I built a wall out of some 2x4s and some drywall, but left a 2x5 area for me to get into. I cover that with a bookshelf, and when I need to get in, I just slide the bookshelf out of they way. Inside I painted all the walls and ceiling white, and hung up mylar as well. I have a 2x4 foot ebb and flow table, and am running a 400w HPS, and a 250w mh in there. All I use for ventilation is a Dayton 265 pulling through my carbon filter, exhausting through a 4 inch grate in my drywall. My temps stay at a consistent 83.5 with the lights on.
Right this second I am wayyyyy too lazy to go take any pictures, but if you are still trying to figure out what to do, let me know, and I'll snap some shots for you.......peace.
