Ultra Sonja Test Grow

Ultra Sonja is UK Cheese X Blue Sonja

The good folks at GrindHouse have asked me to do a Test Grow. steel savage gives a description of what we might expect, in his intro thread here - link

I bought some Blue Sonja seeds thanks to descriptions of some nice euphoric sativa-style effects but I've decided to run these first, as the Cheese is getting quite a few nods from those sampling it's greatness, which combined with Blue Sonja's excellent genetic heritage should be something very very special.

Man I'm drooling already heh. Enough of my ramblings, here we go.

Germ/Seedling Method - seeds into totally dark 25C tap water for 1 day. pH 6.0
Once popped, out they come to be wrapped up in double-wrapped paper towel, moist, total darkness in 25C environment. pH 6.0 tap water.

Grow Method - Canna Coco, indoor Hydro with twin 600W HPS setup, tap water, Canna Coco Nutes.

7 seeds soaked. Next day > 5 popped. The 3rd day > last 2 seeds popped.
100% Germ rate, these seeds are fresh!

Here are the first 5 US babies pushing upwards, to make my life better :canabis:

Really awesome to see NC . Many thanks for participating in tha test grow . I have a friend that owns a shop , some of his boys'll be conducting a test run of these as well . I really appreciate tha detail thus far in you thread , very complete . I will say that Canna Coco can be a bit heavy and compact tha roots easily , I encourage folks that do use it to go lightly on tha waters with seedlings and slips . NC , your tha first to have these in your show , may they provide you with plenty of' sticky , dank nugs and me with a grip of preliminary info .

KC , happy to have yas join us .

Get Mo , please refer to what I was sayin' in regards to Coco , it compacts easily . Let it "dry" in between waterings when plants are young and you'll be golden .

Be well y'all ,
Steele

Thanks Steele, I appreciate the seeds :rasta:

The coco needs a few important things, like once established my experience is daily run-to-waste watering and nothing more. The seedlings in coco are getting every 2nd day feeding, and they're doing good.

Despite my camera being really really crap at focusing on what I want focused on, we can still see roots already. Check this...

Dang these girls gonna be into bigger pots in no time at all :rasta:

I recommend reading through the The Coco Forum Stickies if you're considering a coco grow, and especially some good debate and info found in -VT-'s Coco-Coir Experiment Thread.

Peace

Day 9 - Vegetative

Day 9 - Vegetative

All the Ultra Sonja babies are doing great.

7 from 7 :headbange

You'll have to forgive my sadass photographic skills, ok? I blame my camera :muahaha:

After soaking seeds overnight in a glass of water they were moved into moist paper towel, in a plastic ziplock bag, and this placed in a 24C environment, in the dark.

2 days later I had so much root pr0n that I moved them into peat jiffy pots filled with Canna Coco and pH 6.0 tap water (plus 0.24mL/L canna rhizo to stimulate root growth) where they lived the next 5 days.

2 days ago I transplanted them into 6" pots with Canna Coco and am starting them on a 1/4 strength Canna Coco veg, regimen, plus full strength Rhizotonic (4mL/L).

They're all doing really well, in my 24C, 65% humidity Veg Room.....

(did I say my camera sucked? When i get my tax return at end of month I hope to get something that will take a decent macro, until then experience my pain)...

NC , lookin like a nice start . Very vibrant seedlings you got there . Not sure how many folks are in tha know , coco needs or I should say heavily benefits from inoculating with Cal-Mag . Coco is a inert media and typically deficient of nutes , however when seedlings and clones are potted in it they GREATLY benefit .... Right tha gate ...
Canna's Rhizo is probably one of the best root stimulator's on tha market , looks like you've got shit handled and stoked to see how they work fer yas .

Be well ,
Steele
