so....... snipped a sample/popcorn nugger and well............. Ugh...... was my reaction when I found those little brown buggers in a fair amount of the calyxes........... how do you people deal with your premie seed issues 10 days prior to chop?
I just keep out all males and hermies...problem solved
You've either got a hermie/male in there or some pollen left from one...so thoroughly clean your room after this round. Besides that, get a good 100% female plant and use it for clones or buy strains that aren't prone to hermie.
Did you have any light leaks or semi-major stresses on the plants during early flowering?
had a male room and some mishaps with caretaking so thats what caused it.......... I was looking for more of an answer of ........... cut it right away....... or leave em, they will be fine........
Ain't really anything else you can do at this point...might as well finish em out and after harvest do a thorough cleaning of the room to remove any left over pollen that might still be lingering.
from what i've been reading on these forums. is if its a predominaly female plant with a lil hermie that those seeds will indeed be mostly females with a small chance of hermie and there will be no males possible?? is this true? i believe its called selfing a plant or something? so getting a hermie is actually not always that bad especially if its a great strain and u get free feminised seeds off it?? the bad part tho is it just can cover your other true females and seed them.
Did anyone out there experience those extremely tiney seeds, especially in buds from the lower part of the plant?
I had one girl popping out a few male bananas during late flowering, and this seems to be the result.
I watched the crumbled bud very carefully under the magnifying glass, and those little woody things are nothing else than undeveloped seeds.
Not such a problem as with full pollination, and potency is okay for me, and others may
even get extremely stoned(like I got from smoking this after a little Canna break..)
There are different types of hermies.
The one that looks like a pure female and in the middle of the flower, or during the end, suddenly starts to pull out male pollensacks.
Then there is the oppsit of that.
And then there are plants that produce both, male and female flowers since the beginning.
And of course we shouldn´t forget that in a sinsemilla style garden it´s perfectly natural for some girls to show one or two male flowers during the end of bloom, as a natural reaction to the lack of male plants,- something like a special emergency survival program.
One interresting point is that hermies are used to produce those so called "feminized" seeds.
A well selected phenotype is stressed until it goes hermie(surviaval program/answer to the stress!).
The Outcome are all hermie plants, but 99% of them should only produce female flowers.
According to my personal experiece, we should rather talk about 80%, especiall Outdoors with wicked wheater conditions.
Gave those "female" beans from Dutch Passion one more try in this seasons outdoor grow,
we´ll see.
Okay, that´s it for now, I talk and talk,
Shoudn´t smoke too much of this hermies stuff, makes me smile and talkative,
