I don't know if anybody else noticed, but Current Culture is selling Hypochlorous Acid for keeping their RDWC systems running shiny and clean. It is probably rebottled Oxcide or another greenhouse product.
Hypochlorous acid is what happens when you add bleach to water that is acidic. That and salt and chlorine gas. So, basically, hypochlorous acid is the same as adding bleach to your water.
I digress. The hypochlorous acid they are selling is very stable and although expensive compared to bleach, it has one other very neat quality. It is being tested and used for the treatment of botrytis and powdery mildew in vegetable crops. Unfortunately, I have powdery mildew and I wasn't trying to use up my good milk (1 part milk to 9 parts water for pm).
I am testing it out now, at the maximum dilution rate stated on the bottle. 5ml per gallon.
I will update with progress. I doubt I will post pics, unless someone can tell me a way to make the process quicker...
