ty's bagseed grow

Well as I said in my intro post I am growin some unknown bagseed.I started out setting up a hydro grow but ended up just doin these babies in soil.

HERE'S MY SETUP:
2/3 plain potting soil(wallyworld)
1/3 perlite(wallyworld)
a little drainy goodies in the bottom of each pot/bucket(usually marbles or those little shiny almost marbles they sell for a dollar a bag)I usually put about an inch or so in the bottom of each pot as this helps drainage and overwatering is something really common in soil grows.With this mix I notice my soil dries out often and I have to water about every 2 to 3 days but this is not a problem for me as I am home all the time.Someone wanting a more maintenance free setup might want to do things different.
Expert 30-10-10 azalea fert mixed at 1/3 strength for the first 2 to 3 weeks f veg.(I might foliar feed a 1/4 mix once a day if the foliage looks a little light green to darken it up)
With this mix I add one(1) capfull per gallon Superthrive(I also add 1 drop per gallon to my spray)
I feed once every 3rd feeding and plain 6.8 water the rest of the time.

Nothing else has been done to these plants and they are in thier third week of veg.I guess the best of the 4 main plants is about 61/2 inches tall and still lookin a little light green for me so I am sprayin them with the foliar feed a couple times a day.They haven't gotten worse so hopefully this will green them up.I'll keep you posted.
My veg cabinet is 42 inches wide 32 inches deep and 74 incches tall.I use 5 65 watt floro twisties to veg but I found a 175 watt MH at the dump today.If the ballast is good I may incorporate this into this cabinet.Stay tuned.It is an old Regent 1204D model and they have a pretty inefficient ballast but I will probably only run it for late veg.I am currently building a flowering chamber next to this with a space between for rooting and cloning.Like I said I need to figure out how to post some pics.
I really like BOGs methods and will be adhereing to these as I can.He grows some really good babies in soil.I like his KISS methods as I am a poor hippy and a med user so the "sperimentin" will have to wait for now.I hope to be doin some efficient ass hydro by this winter tho.I have been smokin for 30 years now and only grew once in that lifetime but really can't understand why!!?Shit! That't just absurd.Anyway I will forever grow some budz and hopefully you guys will to.Well this is gettin long winded as shit so I will post again later.Grow on.

Well I had some puter trouble but I got it fixed.I have a couple photos in my gallery that shows my 4 babies.They are 23 days since hitting dirt and doin real well.My box is still not quite finished but I will be working on getting it finished in the next couple days so I can put these into flower and find out if I got any ladies.I found a fert that I'm gonna try for flower.It's peters 8-16-8 with micronutrients from wally world.I have been foliar feeding about once a day with my grow fert because my humidity is a little low.Everything is goin well and hope ya'll are to.Later.

Well folks I finally made it back.My computer got the shits so I had to reinstall everything.Been a pain in my ass as I really have things to do.I've done a little cleanin and rearrangin and bought some toys.I have built(about 85% complete) a veg case that's 44" wide x 25 deep x 36" tall.It is connected to my flower box and my ventilation comes through my veg box and then into my flower box and out my fan.My box temp. is steady at around 74-76F.
So I think I may have vegged 2 of my 4 plant to death.They want to flower and make me a happy hippy.I bought a 150HPS today and I must build a box for it so I can cool it.I'm building my box reflector and assorted doodads out of some 14 gauge aluminum I have layin around here somewhere.I will probabl just go for it and build something I think will be an efficient little set-up for around $100us.I have most all the stuff needed for this but I am figuring I paid like $83 for the light and the rest of this stuff should run around 15-17 more if I went and bought it for this project.I will try and get a better rundown on exact prices.
Well I got some pics.These were taken a few days ago but everything sits pretty much there right now.Now that I have got my zombie box up and running again I can play some more.Things will progress rapido now.I hope to have the 2 front plants flowering under this 150 by Sunday 19th, and the smaller 2 vegging under fluoros in my new case along with about 6 beans I busted on a paper towel recently.I found time to throw 10 beans on a towel, wet it and stick it in a ziploc while I was waiting for my coffee to brew up.2 days and there taps on 6 about a quarter inch long!Agressive little shits for bagseed.Well the 2 pics in my gallery were taken on the 10th of June so these are about 5 days older.Enjoy.Grow big!

Well I hate when I type up a good post and lose it like that.Anyway I got an update.Day 5 of flowering with a 150hps and all seems good.Watered for 2 waterings with plain water before adding my bloom nutes which are peters 8-16-8 liquid with micros.I have only fed this once so far.I spray with plain water every day about 15 minutes before lights out.Temps have stayed steady at about 80-82F during the day and 74-76 at night.My pics kinda suck but the two biggest plants have much white hairs forming and the cola on one is fattening up pretty nice.The runt is still a runt however and I think the stubborn little shit knows I am dissappointed with it.Oh well I may put it into a drip bucket and show it lotsa love and then if I get no love back I will pull it up and hack it to death.I have 3 sprouts on my seedling bench that will go into my new veg box soon.I built it from old windows I had around here.Was gonna build some cold frames outside for veggies but oh well.I built a hood for my 150 out of some metal I had forever.I did a thread on it over at OG.Anyway I just wanted to keep this updated so here goes the pics.

Hey guys.Yea that plant that was stickin it's head up into my hood was actually doin pretty good.I pulled it out the other day as I thought I was seeing male preflowers forming.I suspected it was goin hermy.A good friend came by and said to put it back in that I would be able to tell for sure in a few days.I disagreed with him but bein the frugal farmer that I am I figured that if someone else thought there was hope I would jump on that wagon and have hope as well.So yesterday I found a few sacks.I snipped them of carefully and continued to hope.This mornin I went in after lights on and there were nuts hangin everywhere.One even sprayed a little pollen spurt onto a branch.Wish I could do some close ups but I have a suck ass camera.Anyway that girlie defiler is hangin by his frickin toes as we speak.He will be missed and now I have no more hope left for his ass.Say byby.

Well guys I've been down and out of it for a few days.I got some kind of cold and all I could do is lay my sick ass on the sofa.I barely can get up and walk through the house without about falling out today.I do feel better though.I now have two plants going.One I took out of the flower box on the 3rd I think because I found pollen sacks forming.The other is in the flower box but I think it is male alsr they all got fertilized somehow I really ain't positive.All I know is they look like they are producing seeds.If the one in the box is definately so today I will put the other one back in with it.Hell smoke will be smoke for now I suppose.I have 3 sprouts up and showing their first set of true leaves and seeds on a paper towel now for more to come.So continues my quest for a girlie in this here bagseed grow.I am really just too damn sick to get any pics right now so I will have to wait another day I guess.Later.

Well folks I haven't been doing much for the last week.All my plants turned out either male or seriously hermied.So, I now have a few sprouts in the wings and I may start some Grapepunch seeds I got hold of.I guess I will try and get some pics up tomorrow.This cold I had was a monster.Shit just hangs around.I'm far too stoned to keep writing so later.Just wanted to keep this grow thread alive even though the plants are dead.And we grow on.

Thanks HB and 3LD.Yea it sucks.However I have 3 seedlings at day 12 now and they will be the next bagseed.I also put down 12 bagseed beans and 5 Grapepunch to germ.They haven't popped yet.I guess I will call the seedlings BS#2-1,2 and 3.The beans are BS#3 and GP#1.I will be tryin to keep from having a lull between grows.That sucks so I will keep beans in the wings from now on.Now that I can make use of my veg box it makes things much easier to keep up with.Building a grow space around your plants is not recommended boys and girls.Trust me.Well I will take some pics and get them going tomorrow.I'm still tryin to get hold of a decent camera.This one sucks.When I get my good one I'm gonna take this one outside and mount it on my porch.Stoner security cam.Later ya'll.

Well I have some pics of the next run.These 3 seedlings are "bagseed#2" plants 1,2 & 3.They look pretty healthy at 14 days and have put on fast growth in the last 3 or 4 days.I'm gonna get the veg box cleaned up and tested today and put these in for at least one more week of veg.I've had them on my clone bench under 2- 20watt daylight tubes.No nutes just plain potting soil and perlight.I guess about 70% soil.The containers are plastic folgers coffee cans.The small ones.They are about the same as a standard 4" pot but slightly deeper.One is in a 6" pot.

The beans are really slow to pop this time.The only thing I changed about my germ technique was to use those high dollar reusable type towels.I'm gonna put them back on cheapy dollar store paper towels today.I have the one bucket up and running so I will put one seedling in it and hopefully build at least one more this week.Depending on my stoned ass whim this could wind up as either a combo soil/hydro or all hydro grow.We'll see.Well that's the progress for grow #2.Stay tuned.

This is an update of my second attempt.This pic is "bagseed #2".3 plants vegging under a 150hps in my flower box.They are 3 weeks old since popping and two look pretty decent but one is kinda sad.That's bagseed pheno though so I will probably just chuck the runt.


This is a pic of "bagseed #3" in the red solo cups and GrapePunch that finally popped.They took forever.I had changed my germ technique and started using the reusable type paper towels.I think I will go back to my old technique.Well let's at least hope for girlies.


I also built this and have tested it and it works just fine.I will be putting some veggies in this and maybe do a little experimenting with vegging my MJ.If anyone wants any details on it I'll be glad to give them.There is a site that has some good info on this deal.I just copied it from there.

Well I have 3 plants at 4 weeks old now.Bagseed2 plant #3 is the largest at about 11 inches.Plant #2 is next at 8 inches and then there's the runt plant #1.It has a serious bend in it and would probably be about 7 or so inches but it is deformed.It has begun to grow so I will feed it and love it for now.But if the little shit as much as stumbles I will kill it.
I am going for a good mother plant and I only want strong reasonably fast growth.I look for a plant(female) that has growth that can be actually noticed from one day to the next.To me that is considered fast growth.
Next I want to keep short internode length.I hope these are at least indica dominant as that would help here.I also have a couple things I do to help insure these grow nice and thick.I keep my light as close as possible at all times.I also try to insure that the temp. doesn't swing more than 10F from the hottest part of the day to the coolest.
My next desire is for this to be really good potent smoke.The bag this came from was excellent for street weed so I should do much better if I can harvest at peak and cure it properly.
So that is the project this time around.The soil I am using is just a generic plain potting soil with some perlite mixed in for aeration.I have fed them once about a week ago with a mix of start bomb.I mixed:
1 and 1/2 tablespoons of 30-10-10 Expert azalea food
10ml of 8-16-8 liquid bloom fert with micronutes
4 drops of superthrive
1 tablespoon of epsom salt
3 tablespoons of blackstrap molasses
all into 1 gallon of ph 6 water.
I used about 1/3 of this gallon watering these 3 plants.They have had 2 light waterings of plain ph6 water since.The next watering will be after they are transplanted into 3 gallon buckets.It will be the same as the first mix.

The 2 plants from bagseed#3 are still doing ok.There is only one Grapepunch now.It looks like it might make it.The stem is really red.Is this a trait of GP or something I need to tend to?
So I have started soaking some swag bagseed so as to be doing something.I will towel them tonight and see what happens.We may be moving sooner than we thought so I am not starting any hydro right now.If we get this house I will have some massive space to play in.Then we can get real serious with this shit.Later folks.
