Typhoon hermie

Hi! Typhoon -the Dane strain- may not be AF but it´s pretty close so I´m asking this here.

I have one female -or what I thought was a female- which hasn´t been growing well (about 60cm height) but started floering last week and today I found one ballsack which I removed. The plant isn´t bushy so it´s easy plucking sacks...or should I just remove it? Anything I can do with it?

I've had a couple Thyphoon females grow some balls too, just remove them, I haven't seen any balls since I removed the first ones.

Good luck with your thyphoons :)

Hi! I did just that and no knew ballsacks! Luckily it´s not a bushy plant.

Hmm, I didn't know about that, you mind telling a bit more? As i understand it thyphoon has been grown by danish hippies since the 70's.

I have friend growing from the same batch of seeds and his plants are totally different -taller and overall bigger. Mine is only about 50-60cm tall and real scrawny BUT I planted it directly in the ground on June 1:st so it had no headstart on vegging.

Hi, i might be a little bit stoned at the moments but "Typhoon" is exactly the same as "Thaipan". I know the breeder and you shouldn´t buy the genetics from Denmark since the strain has been to much in-breed there. The "Thaipoon"" they sell there is regular "Thaipan", breed by DragonFly here in Sweden.

The breeder, Dragofly, doesn´t support "Typhoon".
No, Thyphoon (not "Typhoon") and Dragonfly's Thaipan are completely different strains. Why would Dragonfly "support" Thyphoon in the first place?

Hans, i apologize i was so incredible stoned that evening when i wrote that post. I guess i messed around with the strains inside my head... but i know for sure that DragonFly once sent a couple of thousands Thaipan beans to "Dansk Fröbank" or whatever they're called and they kind of ripped him off or something so he went ape about it.

No problem. I'm in the dark regarding how Dragonfly (Dragon, Draken) was treated by the Danish seedbank. His Thaipan, as far as I know, is a Thai dominant outdoor strain developed in Skåne.

Thyphoon, however, is a different story. It seems to be a sativa dominant outdoor strain of unknown ancestry. The "Thy-" is said to be from the place name in north-west Jutland, where a hippie colony have bred the strain for decades. See Tanska's beautiful threads in the Swedish forum, where there's also material on Thaipan.

Greetings from Denmark
I've been looking into some past posts.
Thaipan 2.0 was originally named "dragon racehaze" - the Thaipan 2.0 name was given sometime in 2008.
References to Thyphoon has been found back to spring 2007 when Dyr started his first public grow.

I think it's pretty obvious that those are different strains?

Anyway - is anyone growing Dragon's Thaipan this year? I saw some great older photos at the Swedish forum.

this thaipan strain seems interesting, I know about most of the danish and canadian ones but I've never heard of a swedish one....quite exotic with a thai based strain being developed in Skåne of all places :) you guys think it would finish up @ 60degrees north ? I'll definatly read up on this thaipan strain

I actually tried some thaipan for my first ever grow. Was gifted a couple of beans. Not much pics but I'll dig some up.

I harvested way too early. Gave a mellow, all in the head, happy, go do stuff high. Perfect for doing stuff on sunny summerdaze. Never tried it outdoor.

I might be able to get hold of some Thaipan seeds this winter.
But I don't know if they are pure or hybrid Thaipan yet.
