Two Tents Same Room (Venting Questions)

I'd run each tent with its own scrubber and exhaust fan. If air-cooling the lights pull through the scrubber and push through the lights and out...not just out of the tents, but out of the room/space entirely (however you can would depend on your situation. window box, vent to unused space above, out of attic vent, etc)

Intake from the room (passive intake if possible) which will act as your "lung" space.. if this doesn't get you cool enough I'd try assisted intake from colder source into your lung space.

You shouldnt have trouble with those size tents/wattage. Just exhaust power to remove the heat.. intake will pull from anywhere. Depending on wattage a 6" exhaust on your larger tent and 4-6" exhaust on your small tent should do the trick.. however nothing wrong with a little overkill in the air dept. I've learned to buy bigger...because you'll likely need it someday.. so scratch the 4" and just get two 6" fans with appropriate scrubbers.

Max 6 fans would work well for this.. Run them on Can 33s. Speed control built in for your smaller tent if the full blast isnt needed.

Definately set each tent on its own scrubber and exhaust. Correct on your direction.. I like to push through hoods rather then pull to ensure no smell is escaping in any duct leaks or around the glass.

Intake could just be passive from the space the tents sit in without any forced intake. I'd try it like that and add just single intake into the room containing the tents should you need colder passive intake source air.

o... I see what you mean.

You cant butt the tents up together and keep the lower flaps that face one another closed.. while having the opposing flaps open as your passive intakes?

We normally only run one passive intake flap on tents.. leaving the one open that is opposite side then where the scrubber is hung inside. This way you get a passive/natural draw across the plants.. which then enters the scrubber and is exhausted. The other passive intake flap remains velcro'd over.

You could force intake into each tent, but you gotta watch out that your not push too cold of air into the tents. Also make sure your intake does not exceed your outtake. You want to maintain negative pressure with the tents (walls pulling in slightly) to ensure you have no odor escaping without passing through your filters.

hope that helps

Looks great...

What kind of material is that for your tray? Roofing material?

I'm setting up some tents in a basement that gets wet and would like to keep them off the ground entirely so that if rain water comes in during heavy storms it has room to travel/dry up rather then get trapped under the tent canvas.

A sheet or so of this stuff might be right up my alley.

If you put pressure/weight on that does it hold up pretty good? Think its strong enough to go under a tent to allow air to circulate. Just need to hold the tent inch or so off the ground.

I have several of those tents and a different approach. I like a 8" on a speed controller, it
will cool two tents. you will probably only need 1/2 power until a heat wave and then you
will be glad to have the extra power. the damper on the veg tent side allows you to balance
the air flow and draw more from the bloom tent.

if these tents are in a small room like a bedroom and you are rocking close to 2000 watts
you may need to dump heat from the lung room into the rest of your house when it's cold out
or outside in the summer. lots of ways to pull that off.

you don't have to worry about light leaking IME, I use all the passives open, the black side
of the floor mat pointed up.
not that much light comes in the bottom vents in my rooms.
never made any hermis for me. If you are really worried just lean
a piece of wood or cardboard over it to shield and direct light.

get that filter out of the tent and start vacuuming the heat out.
it's much more effective and you can grow lots of bud in the space
all that equipment takes up.

here is a solution I use to keep the tent sides from sucking in and
molesting my colas. its wooden spreaders notched for the tent poles
and zip tied together. the tent sides pulling in will squeeze out lots of space
that could be occupied by dense buddage, arrest it or you will lose yield.

this is the worst design fail of grow tents IMO...

I thought that those vents would allow too much light in also when
I first started using them. this is how I blocked the light while allowing plenty of airflow.... later I just ditched it because any light
that gets in here is just shining on the pots anyways. It gave me piece of mind and was easy...

hope this helps you maximize your secret gardens.

10" is even more better!

to cool the lung room you should be fine to exchange that air with the rest of your house
or outside. If you are using that lung room for trimming or other stuff then I would add
more filters when in doubt.

the size filter and fan you have should be able to scrub your whole house if you only
have 1000 watts in flower.
