Turntable

Does anyone know how fast is too fast when rotating plants on a turntable? I am hoping to devise a device that will give even coverage of the available light, but am not sure how fast it should turn.

Thanks in advance,

What you need to do is twirl about faster and faster until you start to feel dizzy, this is the speed that would be best for the plants.

OH for those girls THERE!Again, all the good literature states that the best way to determine spin speed for cannabis is to don a tootoo and twirl twirl twirl like you've never twirled before!

So as long as they are not falling off the stand it does not matter. I was not sure given that the tracked lights do not move at a very fast pace, I am trying to duplicate the same coverage on a shoestring budget. Since this is my medicine I do not get to sell it for a profit, i.e. do it on the cheap.

I would rotate it pretty slow if possible. Speed is not going to give you any advantage here. I'm not sure, but it could be bad for the plants to spin them too fast. I would only spin them fast enough to get 3-4 rotations in one lighting cycle. So maybe 6 rotations or less for veg and 3 or 4 rotations for flower.

Yeah, as long as there's no real centrifugal force pulling some parts of the plant outwards, I think it'd be fine. On the other hand, if you turned them just fast enough to make the stems wave around a little and give a decent amount of air movement over the plants, you might not even need a floor fan!

But why would you want something as fancy and complicated as a turntable to achieve even light coverage in such a small space? You could easily achieve this easily using a reflector or similar. I'm not really sure you'd gain much out of it, unless you're doing it "just for fun" to build a somewhat unique light mover.
