Turn your beer bottles into glass cups! (5 easy steps)

Glassware can get pretty expensive especially if you’re in college and always getting sh*t faced and breaking your glasses. Start just using your empty beer bottles and turning them into your new glasses. Look dope, easy to make and cheap! Follow these 5 easy steps.

Step 1 – Grab a beer bottle preferably with thick glass such as corona bottles. Tie a string just above the label on the empty bottle.

Step 2 – Keep the string tied and soak it in lighter fluid.

Step 3 – Put the string back on the bottle and hold it horizontally. Light the sting rotating the bottle so the flame spreads. You should hear the bottle crack slightly in about 10 seconds.

Step 4 – After you hear the crack, pour cold water on the string and the top of the bottle will fall off.

Step 5 – Now grab sandpaper and sand the edges of the bottle till it is smooth.

I am gonna try this as I didn't bring any glassware to my retreat here in the foothills. I do however have a few mason jars. will grab a 6 er this week and try it. wonder if it would work on a 40 as I drink alot

They make 'bottle cutter's if you're looking for a cleaner cut. I have one and it takes a bit of practice to make clean cuts. We use boiling water to heat the scored bottle and then rotate it in cold water from the tap. (Mountain water is aaaaaaalways cold. lol) You might need ice water.

Flame lines tend to create wavy cracks. For the heat method I always wanted to try a nichrome wire and electricity... lol

Alternatively, take the bottom off the bottle, tape some kind of stand to it, so the bottle sits at a 45 degree angle with the open bottom facing away from you, get some cutlery out and start hot knifing...... congratulations, you just saved a couple of hundred dollars on soe expensive dabbing rig.... My knives and milk bottle used to sit on top of the gas fire in the lounge.
