I can imagine a lot of plausible answer to that, but also can't conclude that you are impartial either. I didn't want to judge early, but I think you are right and honest, cause of the profit is a large motivator on their part, so it is making a lot of sense.

All I'm saying they have to have the opportunity to face their accuser too, so someone who has the from the same batch and can reveal their identity should take your place and start legal action.

My first two lots were 18110109 and 19021210. I was given the lot numbers on the second two.

As you will note reading through the posts, we are relatively casual, and spelling or grammar are not essential to convey messages.

People aksed so I asked and I can post this. I want my word backed up by the actual reports when possible.

Ran the sample and took a look. No terpenes whatsoever. We want to do additional tests and look further into this before we release results. What I can say is that their claims do not appear to be correct online.

Will get back to you probably next week depending on how the additional tests go.

My gut is that you may be right, that there may be mineral oil in there. – No Squalene was found.

YUP! Pretty much confirmed it today. We ran a sample of mineral oil from the store against it, and the same kind of large hump appeared.

I looks like it is just mineral oil, no terpenes or anything else. Maybe something added to make a lower viscosity that is nonvolitile.

Conclusion:
Unlike the label claim, this product contains 0 Terpenes or other volitile compounds, When compared to food grade mineral oil the chromatographs match, because of this we believe this sample appears to be mineral oil.

How much of these samples is classified as nonvolatile? This is important if you want to call it vegetable oil. Were these nonvolatiles removed before injection? This is important if the operator doesn't want to clean the column and/or inlet. Did anyone do any sample prep at all? Did anyone get a peak lone enough for MS? Did labs getting different chromatograms do things a different way?

If it wasn't done, SPE/SPME as needed shouldn't add thousands to the cost. If the nonvolatiles are not being separated, then sample prep could give separation suitable for MS.

There are the chemical treatments I've mentioned that are possible. There's also vacuum distillation to separate the most volatile part out. If you suspect vegetable oil, you could do the biodiesel treatment yourself as many others have. This converts undistillable vegetable oil to methyl or ethyl esters with well-known retention times on standard columns and programs. A combination of esters and proportions that can provide hints as to which oil.

There hasn't been any MS yet and nothing has really been identified, no? I suspect that Dr. Bob has software giving him a possible match for this and that particular time, but not calibrated in any way, like he has ever run standards of the bigger alkanes through his machine. That's what the terpene and pesticide labs do, they identify by retention time on the column compared to something known and run on their machine by their process and operators. Without this comparison with an authentic standard and especially without MS, retention time is just a guess. So much of analysis of unknowns is getting a near match from both the GC and MS data.

The naming of certain alkanes in his report has been used to justify a guess of vegetable oil, instead of the mineral oil suggested by the lab - this is where the amount of nonvolatiles comes in. Alkanes are a tiny fraction of vegetable oil - this is not mentioned by the table of alkanes of safflower oil unsaponifiables at the other site.

Thanks Joe. Great point about the table I posted at future4200. I really had no idea if what i was doing wasa correct in that post. I still believe its mineral oil in there with otehr stuff, maybe some veg oil?

I have your other posts about boiling and other advise. I have saved them and will post here in one place. I am asking labs if they can do what you suggest and i have friend with a nice extraction facility with lots of lab equipment, he may be able to do what you suggest. I will keep you up to date. I hope he can do it this weekend or next week.

I am following your and MagisterChemists advise on what testeing to get done next.

From the law firms standpoint its all about availability, if they still can get from the questionable product from the market, they get buyers and their testimony is a key, might as well be yours, if they cant get it elsewhere from like 15 other buyers who can prove it and will testify, they can ignore you altogether. But they can't file by them self (only allowed to represent), and this to be class action they need multiple plaintiffs. They can get a random guys to purchase, but they have to do it legally and documenting and recording all steps and then file, depends on how much money was earned and if there is the possibility of health risk, plaintiffs and the firm could make a shitload of money. So actually if the availability of collectible evidence is low then they need you desperately, supposedly they already spent some workhours on this so they are already invested. I know law firms . So if you are a good "negotiator" call them and ask for money, so they might include you for free, make them haggle a little(you can make pretty good deals if you are talented), but good lawyers are really good at this, they can make you feel unimportant and you could think it's and investment or your part, need money to make money. But think about this: Firms often run ads to find people, and even pay them to make class action suites (well you can do this many ways, so it is not illegal per se, or almost impossible to prove), this is a business like others just regulated more. What I mean is they need people like you if they can't produce evidence now, you position in this negotiation depends on availability evidence.

I would think proving batches went across state lines and even borders would make a huge case. Makes the worst case scenario, losing in federal court and then in some extreme cases have to go to state court(s) too. All states could prove at least fraud... if proven not safe for human consumption even if they stated like: these are oils for not human consumption in the "small letter parts" they knew people buy them for that, well a big pharma company could maybe (you all read news I guess), lobby a little and shit, but TT can't.



If this allegation is true they are fucked and they absolutely deserve it.



If not then it's tragic, cause goodname can't be repaired by reparation money, and as it seems the responsible parti(es) cant be identified, so sucks from a justice stand point.
