trouble getting thread pages to advance

Hi,
I'm not very tech savy, so that's why I'm asking what is probably an easy question(hopefully) for y'all to answer.
ever since joining ICmag, I've been reading through the "revival of the ultimate sativa thread" (which is Fing awesome!) but I cant get to the last several pages...the last couple days I get stuk at page 538.(think its 538, about 8 pages before the end of the thread at any rate) That's where I get sent to if I select last page, and once at that page, if I click the arrow sign that should move me to the next page, it just refreshes page 538...any ideas? I haven't had this issue with any of the countless other threads I've read through on here...

there area always a few pages listed at the end of each thread...2 or 3 in advance, that do not yet contain any posts...but it just shows the thread is or will progress....chances are, you have already read anything that has been posted...

And it typically is more common on very long threads...most short threads with 20-30 pages, do not show additional pages, that have yet to be used...

I've noticed this too, and while I don't fully understand why the forums work this way, I know that what you are experiencing is not odd...

Many threads past the 100 page mark, I can see listed at the bottom page 108, 109, 110...., but the last post in the thread is actually on page 107...

If you can't advance any further, then you are actually, already at the end of the thread, is my take on it...

Yes, pages at the end of threads that you can't access are caused by deleted posts that are still in the thread but not visible to anyone but mods, it's a bug that has been around for years now

huh...I'd have never figured out it was an archive of deleted posts... learn something new every day...
