^^^lol, maybe now I know what chicken sacrificing is all about.

Thank for the welcoming encouragement, Chaman! Yeah, those plants aren't going anywhere! I'm guessing the Rocketwrecks will go till mid-Oct or the threat of a killing frost, but I'll let them go as long as possible.
Here's a shot of a patch w/ 3 rocketwrecks and a Biddy Early in the back right. The Biddy's should be done by the end of this month.

Here's a shot of the same Biddy.

and a close up of her from this A.M. I like to go early and give them a vigorous shake, get that moisture off. The colder temps @ nite bring alot of condensation, and being near the ocean, I get alot of fog as well. The threat of mold is strong this time of yr. So far so good tho.

Looking forward to some more greenhouse shots!

Chaman I also like to plant other types of plants, have some rosas enanas, yerba buena (jaja) romeros, and some ornamental plants that I don't know the name , but this days I'm in a very cool proyect, we are planting nisperos trees, when I was a kid there were a lot of nisperos all around, that feed a lot of bats(murcielagos), but now there are none, so we are using some seeds from nisperos from spain and they seem to be doing all right, hoping for suceed on these ones,
Regarding the grape plant, o viña, I know that people in Paraiso de cartago and some other regions produce that here in CR, I also was curious but the watering is very precise with this plants I think, but maybe some other folk could explain some more about planting grapes.
Also planting some chile panameño that will take your hat out!!! :sasmokin:
last but not least, I have a very good friend of mine living in Panama, he always tells me that in Panama he smokes lots of variaty and quality and hes going to start sending me some seeds, I'll keep posting for advise for the summer....
last question, I'm wondering to take my plants to the mountain before rain stops, but I'm afraid that the plants won't resist the rain, my ? is how big they have to be to resist a good chaparron like we have here??

happy weekend and good smokes to all!!!!!

hope the nisperos grow big and give lots of fruits :D i bet it grows bigger there than here in spain. i got one in my garden, but it seems its in a bit bad shape and i have to cut it. i got too many trees though so i got to cut a bunch to be able to plant a few more intereting ones. i mean we have about 10 orange trees... gonna cut most of them too. i want to plant some nice tropical trees - that way i might get something to carve in a LOT of years hehe

peace

Bonecarver, nisperos trees in Costa Rica aren't too big trees, but I let you know how they are doing, actually nisperos trees in costa rica have to be the same genetics that in spain, maybe colonization or maybe they are originally from this continent, just guessing, the fruit seems from the tropics... :chin:
Chaman, this weather is crazy, it looks like february, I don't like it, gave me feeling that something wrong is going to happen, maybe a "meneón".

jeje Dude...I'd hate to log on to this thread from my dail up at home on with luck i'd be able too see a full page by tomorrow.

So hey my nispero is the biggest monster in my yard at the moment, but it kinda looks cool from out side you see a bounch of trees inside a walled area in the middle of a bare nieghborhood, my little oasis.

these are nisperos by the way ;)

one of my favorit plces to sit, and obseve things, practice my guitar, or hangout with friends, eat'n brakefast with the family is always nice too, realy makes everyones day start different. Hidden in the pic are many Orquideas and bromelias along with many other epifitas and ferns and such.

A 1 of 2 peach trees, this one out side my window, right now it's just starting to drop leaves, soon she will seem prety bare, but little after literaly burst in purple long colas of flowers, realy is wonderfull to see, then most of those give us and the dogs more peaches then realy necesary jeeje

On the other side of me table and benches there are 2 loritos, right now still young as they will tower one day, they give great shade, and later red with yellow flowers over her green crests of fine leafs resemble mature parrots, why there called Lorritos.

Some of the orquideas in flower around my benches to check out while smoke'n a bowl these days

jejej these are the muts ;)

Check this out....jeje looks like a reg place to have a bbq, just out side the kitchen back door.

nispero chino .. interesting.. any pics of that?

that nispero up there is exactly like the ones here get. it actually seems nisperos come from china :D spain has grown nisperos for about 2000 years - it was first brought in at valencia :D so much info on the internet :D and the nispero chino is also edible - it just matures later and is diferent in colour.

http://frutas.consumer.es/documentos/frescas/nispero/intro.php

trees id like to grow is the mango tree, passionfruit, and lyches, amongst othres - i hope its possible to grow them here in spain.

peace

We also have some cousin of the nispero, don't sure, called nance, that also makes a nice licour, vinito de nance.
I also have good memories from nisperos trees from my childhood, maybe that's why Im trying to grow them.

O, jeje thanks man but gota say your pics are out of this world too my friend, hope your a day closer to harvest each day ;)

Highlighter,
jeej realy love the name, cuase I bet you could end up like a recked rocket off a few hits when shes done :) But wonderfull combination should make great ofspring, those seem prety uniform main cola wise, the size diff and the one with branching are thigns that make them differ but seem similar in color leaf wise and main cola style.

Aleph,
Plant size to transfer...well i'd plant them in mounds if it's rainning alot, i'd ad a stick for suport to tie to if necesary. I'd also not transplant unless plant has reached at least 3 nodes or 5digit leaf true leafs, I'm sure she'l streach alot soon enough. Thats good to hear about yoru friend in Panama willing to share his seeds, thats the best way to start to be honest.

I've got lots of dif trees but my nispero si where most the action takes place, it gets much mroe visits of various birds, animals and yeah even fruit bats at night then anyother tree. More insects too, so those atract even more types of birds that arn't interested in the fruits, but the belly filling insect gulping, see more frogs too

my kids and I had a good feast on them today share'n with the dogs too as the tree is a true producer indeed.

Bone,
Would your floor be acidic due to so many citrus trees ? I've got a Limon/mandarina, an Orange tree, a Mandarine tree and an Orange/Mandarine tree inhertado and the grass grows different under them. Great trees as they almost give all yr !!! man it's incredible.

Aleph,
about the shakes...yeah man, the trueth is these are the months we get teh most in, from here to December you can expect a flood, a shake, a volcaneo to erupt, a Marimoto, a Huracan, um...jeje think I could go on, but It nature at it's best in all it's true meaning. Truely love living here, just hate the damn horrible streets...and lines where ever you go.

So hey everyone, i've been cutting some down due to molds and almot filled a few shelfs of the greenhouse grow cab, as my Rot took over my dry cab...yeah thats her new home now it seems so I had to dry some buds on my grill, jeje it's worke awesome to be honest and will prob keep on dry'n buds there from now on too as my wife will bitch to much if I hang plants in our bathroom as our kids are getting too big and smart, jeje figure the grill still safe they still are too you to play with fire at least ;)

here are a few more pics and its too the greenhouse !

Dalat X China...nice. I never got any Dalat, but I did get the Chinese Indica...it just didn't grow very well for me :( It was too dark and wet during germing and they rotted away...*sigh*. I bet that'll be an interesting cross to smoke :D

I'm going to attempt AK-48 and Sour Mist outside...maybe some Sensi Hindu Kush, too...

Motaco,
yeah mon ! jeje yeah I've got too old school Jamican gentics, one a fine sativa the lambs ,and on old hybird too. Now a days Jamicans are verdiff from those i used to grow, they call the comercial bud that gets here "Alaskan" jeje one Jamican told me after I asked him why you call it that, he say, Cuase you can't get no higher jejej its as far up you can go. Well yeah not much of them left i put them in a jar with my other sat seeds back then as I didn't care about that too much other then thye where sativas and went in the sativa jar. I was only concentrate'n in setting aside hybirds and indicas as these plants seemed wierd and different too me...jejej I had only grow sativas soo long, didn't know an indica even existed, I used to think the leaf on the Chronic CD by Dr Dre was a fucked up leaf cuase it was fat and stubby jejeej

Glock sorry to hear that, it truely looks promissing too me ! ejjeej
