Trisodium Phosphate ?

Helloooo,

I've got an outdoor organic grow going, and I want to give the plants a nice boost toward the end of flowering...

Does anyone know anything about using Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) for this purpose?

Any experience would be helpful!

I wouldn't

I wouldn't

TSP is strong stuff,it'll kill the microherd in the soil, and if yer not carefull,it'll lock up in the bud, makin it taste shitty.I would suggest usein a high phosphous guano instead.Good luck! take care...BC

That shit is toxic so in short Hell No.
Bat guano is always my favorite and relatively easy to find.

Its good for cleaning walls as long as you wear gloves.

that's about the only thing it's useful for . . .

as a rule of thumb . . . any fertilizer with the word SODIUM in it is likely best avoided . . . there's no sense in salting the earth . . . eh?

Nah, I realize it's not organic...But I've seen a few experienced growers using it in their organic mixes on this board, so I was wondering if there's a trick to it, or if maybe it's just an old-school inconspicuous source of high phosphorus.. :chin: ..probably just like using miracle grow or something I would guess...

It's far worse than MG! The salt and high phosphorous content will kill about any livin thing it comes into contact with, this is why their trying ta phase it out all tagether. It reeks havoc on waste water treatment plants,it kills the good bacteria they use for their process....Back in the day prize winning rose growers tried usein TSP and Super phosphate ta make their roses bigger. But I think they found it was more trouble than it was worth.Even if it wasn't the salt, the amount of phosphoruos in this stuff is way more than any soil microherd or plant could handle, plus, ferts need ta be in a more balanced NPK ratio other wise it's toxic to plants.I hope this sheds alil more light for ya on TSP. Take care...BC
