trimming leaves

i'm growing a blue mystic under cfl lights in a 5gl bucket and the fan leaves seem to be blocking the new side growth.Would it be better to cut the leaves to allow the side to get more light or just leave it?

All leaves must stay ,plant need this leaves for photosyntesys.

Have you done any training to the plant? Is it in veg or flower? How tall is the plant? Are you planning on flowering with cfls?

The plant does not need every single leaf. I pull large fan leaves off by the handful in flowering and have only noticed better quality lower buds.
