Trimming and pruning info point...

I thought we might start this thread to collect info on different methods people use when trimming and pruning your autos.

So personally I remove the lowest set of branches when they are small less than an inch long (the branch), I also remove those little inside branches that grow off the main stem but are like a bud on long stick by the end of flowering. I do it to focus growth on the top cola's obviously.

Do any of you trim to just the main stem and a few branches or do you leave them alone all together to do their thing?

I also remove small (larf) buds that grow down below the canopy in the gloom where they will never get any real direct light

I like to remove shade leaves toward the end, the last week or so after senescence (yellowing) has started to take place just so all of the buds even lower on the colas get plenty of light as I don't have time for a staged harvest.

Do any of you guys trim your auto's if so tell us how...

No! Unless fan leaves hinder light penetration, and usually train/tuck them.

Having grown autos for 9 years, it has a short 'shelf life'. Any pruning, trimming impacts or stresses plant. Better to low stress train.

Waiting for that for a while weren't you haha, thanks for the reply.

I dunno man I usually pull 40 or 60 grams dry from new type auto's in 7.5 litre roughly 1 3/4 gal pots and bog standard potting peat packed in 9 to the sq metre.

Last I grew was Northern Light Auto By Royal Queen Seed and got over 69 grams off the biggest, we're talking sparkles.

I don't think I'm doing to bad really although stealth means I dunno many other growers to see their numbers up personal like. I also use Bio Bizz Organic nutes were as most on this fine site use American brand chemical nutes or full on organics I don't have the space for. So it's difficult for me to get direct comparisons.

Do what you do, what you do. Just offered our experience.

If anything just what comes out of cotyledon leaf sites, or dying leaves. I grow them much larger then you but harvest in three stages so it fully ripens all over.

I'm just learning the ins and outs of growing autos and I've been wondering. I know with photo plants you can prune or fim them to get more multiple top branches, is that possible with autos? Has anyone here ever tried it and was it successful?
