TRICOMES - How Red

I'm running my second run under LED light. The first I wasn't the most attentive and missed things like LED AFTERGLOW phenomena where the LED keeps glowing after lights out. I noticed afterglow 2-3d night of 12/12 looking for light leaks.. General knowledge says something wrong in household electrical panel with regard to the grounding of the panel. At this point I do not know if there is anything negative happening but they look great. But I'm here asking about the red trichome. I'm a take it to the max breeder recommendation and start looking for red vs cloudy trichs. 60x scope and 25-30% red is the cut.

But are the trichs under the LED light a different color red? These seem very dark red as opposed to the bright red I think of.
Am I over thinking this?

Not red per se more a honey color or amber......not clear or white essentially.

It might look more like brown.
It might never happen to.
Find another gauge, such as your calendar or the hairs.
Personally, if it says 8 weeks, then it's getting 8 weeks. There is no way it's passing 10. 9weeks would be an 8th longer. 10weeks is 25% longer. That's a plant that failed to meet expectations, so isn't worth your time. Or isn't what it should be, anyway.

I've read about brown hairs, could never get it.. they always looked different.
The red% trichomes has never let me down.. and it's never been before the breeders recommendation.
Dogzter.. mine have always been crystal clear, then milky white..
Now the reds... I've always seen bright red.. few dark ones but mostly bright red.. Honey? nope. But anything is possible with this plant..

The first white hairs tend it appear around day 26 on an 8 week plant. Often they stain from there base, starting with a red hint, but are soon brown. As time goes by, new white hairs grow, and older ones brown. That same idea of 40% can be applied. You can go further, but growth has slowed at this point, and your yearly production starts to take a hit. While the hit itself also turns a corner. Getting more couchy in general. Stronger, but perhaps unwanted. While yearly yield would rather you start again.
A 7 week plant taken to 8 weeks, needs to give you 15% more, just to break even. Many people take in 8 week to 10 week, unsure when to chop. They need 25% more from it. It's unlikely to happen. Though I'm only looking at time in the flower area. If you used that space since seed, then 2 more weeks, might not be a great deal. We just need to know when to cut and run again.

"Stronger" not so much yield, Ca. "couchy".. yes. I do understand your logic but I do not do it for profit. Yes, I do like the most yield that can be achieved but I want a stronger and longer buzz. 2 runs a year nets me (1 plant) 20-22 Oz or so, more than enough for 'me'. The xtra days/weeks are for maturation. 30% red gets into my head.

I think strength can be addressed with quantity. Though if we were talking African bush, we might not be able to smoke that fast enough, for total destruction. If it's couch lock without much thinking that you seek, then longer is probably better. It would be much better to address these needs with strain choice though, than trying to manipulate something. The difference between early or late is clear, but the difference between different plants is much greater.

There seems to be no real agreement on any particular strains effects. Nor what numbers of cbd:thc achieve. Our individual responses are just a bit too wide, for a solid consensus. Yet it's of great importance. Some of the picture is clear, but it's just not cut&dried yet.

dogster.. honey color, yes between clear and cloudy guess I never paid attention..

Ca. There's not a lot of consensus on many topics.. makes for changing perspectives... a good thing.
Yes I could go to a longer running sativa but I'd probably go red head hunting there too.
I have many seeds on hand but gravitate to the Cheeses.. Why? Who knows
