Trichomes slow maturing?

Heyo everyone, I have this big plant strain CrystalQueen from vision seeds. She is now 9 weeks into flower, growing in soil and still has 30-40% clear trichomes, i managed to spot 1 amber trichome during a 5 minute bud inspection.

So my question is, can anything cause the trichomes to develop and mature slower than usual, and should I harvest the plant? Cause the buds dont look like they will get any bigger at this point.

Some pics to help things along

What do you think good people of icmag?

I dont know the strain, so hard to tell. How many weeks is it listed to flower? You can easy add 2-4 weeks (sometimes more) extra to that (strain depending).
Did you do any flushing? My experience is, that if you start the flushing too early, it will slow down the maturing of trics

White Widow is an example of a strain that packs on the resin in the last 2 weeks (ready after 8 weeks, even better by Week 10).

Balancing that is the need to be vigilant for mold and the occasional banana.

But White Widow isn't the only strain that packs on the resin in the last 2 weeks.

I think it's better to let the plant decide itself when its "Max" is. i.e. not to hurry it right when it's becoming full of resin goodness.

The strain is listed as 9 weeks flowering, and since i flipped her little more than 9 weeks ago it seems you are right on the money Therealzemi :)

I have not begun flushing, was gonna start that this week but im gonna wait til I can confirm more cloudy & amber trichome texture before i start flushing. Thanks again for jumping in!

Happy to help :)

I read a really good rule of thumb, that i have success following. The time to start the flush, is when the trics look like you want them at harvest. That look is all down to personal prefference though. Some are aiming for the most stony/relaxed body high as possible. Others like myself, aim for a more uplifting high. A good way of finding out what suits your personal needs/desires from any given strain, is to take a small sample bud each week of late flowering, and dry it for test smoking. Come next harvest, you will know exactly when to start the flush, to get the desired result :)
Works well for me. Who knows, perhaps you too. Happy growing man :)
