Trich stalks without the 'head'

Hey guys, So I''m wondering, a plant that has normal trichome growth etc and they're looking cloudy and ready to harvest, but it also has a fair amount of just the stalks of the trich, but nothing on top, would these develop further given time and grow the head or is that just how they are? Info would be really useful! Thanks everyone

A bit of random trivia for you: For some reason some cats love the taste of trichomes! They may lick or chew your plants around the leaves or the buds, at the absolute worst time during the flowering marijuana stage. Once they get a taste, you'll have a monster on your hands. So if you have cats, make sure you keep them far away from your marijuana, especially during flowering!
The trichomes look like little mushrooms under a 30x-60x power, illuminated microscope ($10 from amazon.com). You'll also see tiny, clear hair-like trichomes without the mushroom head, these aren't important to potency so just ignore these ones.

You'll need a jewler's loupe or other magnifier to
use the method below....

There are different types of trichomes. The stalked ones with the round head contain the most THC but not all trichomes look or function the same.

They don't grow. I think the heads are fallen off for some reason. Maybe touching the buds?

However just for information there are also glandular trichomes and it's normal. Every plant has its own ratio of glandular/stalked and they should look like these:

Both are only example and I don't think they're cannabis trichomes btw...

Here you can see an examples. Looks at big stalked trich and then look at how many glandular ones there are on the back of a dried leaf.

Typically those are non glandular trichomes, the gland ones have 3 different types - bulbous, capitate sessile and capitate stalked, the last ones are these we prefer but all play a part, I think that the tiny ones help with the smell in cannabis, those ones is the pic above that look like hairs are typical non glandular trichomes

Those are sessile trichomes.....

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't more THC potential from them or anything before harvest.
