Transplanting to outdoors Q

S

Sad But True

Hey, Just after some opinions here...

I usually transplant out little clones to outdoors a couple of weeks after they have rooted but the last couple of years i have had a few trouble with early flowering.

Im keen just to vege for say an extra month or so to get them bigger and put them out a month later than normal.

My problem is logistics of moving large plant to my spots... last year it took 9 hours to move 24 bags of soil to one spot... not keen to do it with large plants as it will take 4x longer!

What are your opinions on growing up plants in soil in a bucket and banging all the dirt off the roots and stacking them all in a pile and wrapping them up transport and plant within the day?

They do that a lot with trees from nurseries round here but would a weed plant handle it? maybe scatter some sawdust over roots and water to keep damp.

Would you guys do it?

I would match my room light to the outdoors, it may prevent premature flowering esp if you are rooting under 24hrs.On the moving plants outside with "bare rooting" it works but i never done it to large plants just lil clones so i can carry 50 in a 5 gallon bucket..Cheers

Hey man if you want to wrap your babies roots in water soaked news paper you'll want to stay out there for a day two or three to water them in. You'll lose a few but it is very possible to do this. Other wise man plant your little clones early, fert them with some nitrogen based shit. That'll keep them wanting to stay in veg that way. And then use a little frost cloth or shade cloth to keep the cold off them for the first few weeks, II garuntee you will see less early flowering plants. I do this same thing every year and know the hassle of having to carry big ass fucking plants out hahaha. It sucks. I like my plants getting that early flower, they re veg 3 weeks later here and I can grow 1-2 pound plants really really easy. Good luck man.

In the past, I'd grow 1 foot plants in small pots. You can get 6 or 8 in a back pack and transport them that way. They would be root-bound but it didn't take long for them to take off. Since our laws have changed, I grow them to 2.5 feet in 3 gallon pots before I put them out.
