Transplanting Flowering Plants Safe?

Laugh if you want to.. I know transplanting can cause a plant to not be happy..but..

I just now got the money to get a bag of chunky perlite and a bag of promix bx

My plants are at 8th day of flower...
They are in soil and like 1 gallon Hydro pots, you know the square type that are about a foot tall with holes in the sides of the bottoms...

The are looking AWESOME!!! but I am thinking they will get root bound.

If I did it right, would I be able to transplant them into perlite/promix without sending them into shock? Come on you experienced growers... give a hand here...lol.
Note, I am well aware of IF IT AIN'T BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT...but I am worried they will get root bound!!!

transplanting in bloom can cause bad results.. picky little bitches.
How about putting your little pots with the holes in the sides or drill holes, into a bigger pot and fill 'in between' with your new soil. roots will grow thru and put you at rest with the root bound issue. just sumpthin I'd do. GL:tiphat:

EDIT: of course, you do not mention how biga light youre running. if its small HID, t5s or small LED, the 1 gallon pots might be enough... or the strain , they sativas?

See PHoto I think the pots are like 1 gallon.. as you can see.. kinda worried about root ball constraint..I will from now on use smartpots..

600 Watt HPS
1 gallon Hydro Pots, I think they are for a flood and drain system as they have holes in the bottoms, sides of the bottoms..

I think 8 days you will be fine to transplant{not ideal, but better then not i would say} Roots like room to explode in flower, as long as your stretch period is not over i would do it, the plant will benefit. I would be careful not to use too much soil{1 or 2 gal at most}. so your roots do not have a wack of soggy soil to try and grow into. plants May not get as big Part of the stretch is already gone.Maybe some super thrive or other b vits for shock, if you are careful they will not miss a beat....
