Trainwreck vs Chemdog

I think I like TW better... it is difficult to compare these 2... TW is more relaxed and CD is more active... TW grows whimpy and CD has a stout stature... TW is old and weak... but she has such a distinct aroma... I think I could find better alternatives for CD more easily... I once had a Sage'nSour that I liked better than CD... or Sour Diesel for that matter...

Hi CB, these were gifted to me... as indeed, they are not available in Amsterdam coffeeshops...

I am trying to build a selection of sativa dominant hybrids, that flower in around 9 weeks... the best I could come up with are:

* Chemdog
* LovePotion
* One (a selected pheno)
* Sage'nSour
* StrawberryCough
* Trainwreck

if you can get those you can probably get Green Crack (50 day), clone only...
C99, Apollo 11, and the Genius cut also fit the bill.

Thanks for the honest report, however as a result, people will now come in here and start doubting the authenticity/how it was grown etc. etc. ... they might even call you a troll. :D

what trainwreck and which chemdog?

there is a lot of trainwreck that goes around my parts and almost none of it is arcata trainwreck, why its still called trainwreck i dont know... and theres like 10 different chemdogs so just saying chemdog doesnt give us a good idea. 91? D? sister?

9 week sativas also interest me. check out joey weeds apollo 11 f2's, wallyducks c99 f5's and the pure from flying dutchmen

I'm not a fan of Trainwreck.
I never liked strains with that sour affy taste. Like TW or afghani #1 for example.
It just doesn't taste good to me. But most people love it.
I never thought TW was all that. BUt I like Casey Jones because the Thai in it makes it taste much better.

I think id have a real fun time smoking with you jdog, we seem to have the same opinions on quite a few strains, more power to ya brother.

tw is alright, but it is tough to live up to all the hype generated around it. In cali it has been a staple in norcal for years, the socal boys who got it in the last 5 yrs learned how hard it was to move that stuff up north where it is prevalent.

I think the same about the tw, it is just old and familiar and bland at times. its like going back ten years and smoking one of the first strains that you thought was an elite when you have much stronger options in your stable now, its nice to take ya back in time to some fond memories but if you smoke it a few times it loses its special.

The chemdawg is nice but you need to sneak an extra bowl in there when you feel like its coming on to really get pushed to the edge, i found if i didnt do that it left me with a floaty up high like your describing. A four hitter quitter for me, the flavor and smell of the CD imo were top shelf just like the tw, but in the age of kush the chemdawg does stand out in the flavor and smell dept.

On a side note, your trainwreck looks very nice, but it looks a little bit different than what I have seen, perhaps grown under lower wattages if not a hybrid?? Most of the wreck ive seen is a little tighter than that, both of the samples look fairly similar. excellent photos and descriptions! all looked very frosty and the pics showed killer details of the furry carpet of trichomes on those nugs.

have a good one, enjoy puffin those and stay safe

Sativa Beliva are you saying your in Amsterdam and getting Chemdawg like its anything else.I guess I have issues with that as just short of getting seeds from Rez and hoping for a pheno thats close Im touching the state that tha man himself lives in and I dont ever count on seeing or EVER being able to get it.This strain was born in AMERICA and now somone on the other side of the world is just having nuggs of it given to him while somone a stones throw away from Chemdawgs front door will never even see it.Whass up with this folks?Is Rez responsible? when he went over did he bring all these cuts with him?I was kinda under the impression that there wasnt as good of herb in Amsterdam than in America now I hear they puff Trainwreck and Chemdawg like it aint no thang.Hmmmm maybe I need to get out more.Go on a pigremage south of my states border to see if I may find this elusive Chemdawg.I KNOW its in New York and I almost think I know where but why drive 8 hours when i could drive 1.Hmmm what is this clique impenitrable or somthing?Do they only send stuff south?I really must find more answers than questions as this has been eating at me lately.All I do is read Chemdawg this and Chemdawg that and while I might as well be neighbors with the dude there is no Chemdawg to be had ,trust me if there was Id have it.Anyone to shed light on this will be my new best friend.No offense at all to those peeps spredin the cut as thats what its all about.And none to You either Sativa Beliva you are in the marijuana capital of the world no doubt you should have acess to the finest herb on the planet.Oh and I totally am with you on the Sage and Sour thing.I had a pheno that was sooooo good tasted all its own and sooo much better than straight Diesel It hermed though so its gone.Ill have to reinvest and do some hunting.Thanxx for any info yall may share on why the CD seems to travel everywhere but north.Thanxx Peace,Gromerr Pott!!

Thanks for your reactions y'all!

@wordtree: I know the C99... haven't tried the others... I like StrawberryCough over C99

I've been thinking of Cheese as well, but that one looses to Trainwreck... in my opinion...

@Kinderfeld: These buds were grown on soil... maybe for that reason the Chemdog doesn't smell that strong?

@Ampersand: I believe it is the Arcata Trainwreck... or the weeper pheno... I'm not sure what Chemdog I've got... if its the 91, D, sister, or something else... it got the looks, but not the pungent smell... anyone got a clue what this CD might be?

@JDOG6000: I still need to try that Casey Jones... I've heard many good things about it...

@Sauron The Blue: You're welcome, bro... let me know when you hit town...

I know, I have only smoked a few grams of Trainwreck and Chemdog... I don't know yet of tolerance build up... and I might adjust my opinion judging strains over a longer time... growing them will speed up the learning curve ;-)

This Trainwreck has flowered extra long... 9 to 10 weeks... hence the darker color... maybe you already did, but if you click on the pictures you can zoom in on the trichomes...

@420cali, Duder, professordank and the rest: I like the mouth numbing effect of Trainwreck... it is the most lazy sativa high and it lasts untill the next morning... I only smoke it in the weekends... Chemdog tastes more generic and is more active... it is a special plant but I did expect more of its aromas... maybe I didn't get the right pheno?

@Gromer: No clue how these buds got into Amsterdam... but I don't think Rez is responsible... and no, these strains are not freely on the market... I guess it don't matter where you live... more who you know...

A Trainwreck versus Chemdawg (apples and oranges) thread from someone in A'Dam, who doesn't know which trainwreck he has or which chemdawg he has.

:muahaha:
:listen2:

Nice looking nugs though, a little on the airy side..

Carry on...

the chems are starting to get around but i seriously doubt any pure dawg is in a'dam. maybe its a pheno of chemdawg d x hindu kush or something, but trainwreck is easily beaten in my book. hell, i like some nirvana strains i've had better.

@Stretchpup: True, I have doubts on this Chemdog pheno... glad if this thread gets a smile on your face... of course it is a bold comparison... but I find all previous replies valuable...

@High&Lonesome: Growise I like many plants over Trainwreck... but smokewise, I enjoy its fuel, dead whale, menthol and lemon hints... mouth numbing... lazy sativa high... please tell me what Nirvana strains got all that? Have you lost 'm... and did you keep Trainwreck?

Curious... what would your top 5 of 9-weeks-flowering Sativa-dominant-hybrids be?

yeah, the taste of trainwreck is nice but after thats all you toke for a little while, it gets obnoxious. i find i enjoy a couple bowls of it but i cant smoke it frequently. plus, i dont smoke sativas for a lazy high, thats where indicas come in.

i liked a pheno i had of jock horror better, it was completely different from tw so it didnt have all that. it was quite different and much more easy to regularly smoke for me. ive never kept cuts of a nirvana strain, i need a certain amount of variety in my life as well as in my bowl. :wink: and no, i didnt keep trainwreck around.

edit: top 5 9-week flowering sativa dominant strains? thats pretty restrictive criteria there, i havent had many truly sativa-dominant strains that are ready in 9 weeks that were any good. early phenos of ssh and jack are usually pretty dank as well as c99.
